This is very good poetry. Worthy of the recognition so far received. It is hard to accept rejection, or being apart, or whatever it is that takes a lover away. We long to know and keep hope in our heart. Good job and thanks for sharing with us.

A great poem of love and heartache. Reminds me of a George Jones ballad, I don't remember the name of the song though.
Beautiful words, well crafted, great work.

A splendid poem you've written there.

The title caught my attention: "Response From Your Courtesan"- implication of sexual innuendo

"You cannot expect me to
read your mind
while
I am losing mine. "- very lovely and deep

"complex
cohesive
concrete"very lovely use of the harsh "C"alliteration.

"Do I miss you?" very good use of rhetorical question there.

"your voice
your touch
your kisses
your laughter"- very effective use of listing down the reasons why.

"in your heart that remains of
your need for us. "- favorite lines

So much longing in this well written love poem. It can be the hardest thing to be seperated from the one one you love. It makes dithering idiots of normally rational people and makes the days seem twice as long as they are, yet when your lover is present, the time flies by way too quickly. Your poem expresses all of that and more. Regards, Jan

This is an excellent poem. I like the shape of it as though your thoughts about your lover are coming in stops and starts. It is tight and impressive and fresh revealing real longing without falling into the trap of becoming sentimental. My only query is about your use of the word 'of' in the second last line. I think that 'for' is the correct preposition; 'a place in your heart... (for) your need for us'. But great poem.

This is a sucky feeling, yet, I think we've all felt that way. I remember a song that has a line about sitting and watching the phone waiting for it to ring so they know they're not alone and that their friends care about them and are concerned and worried. It's a dark song but sometimes we just need that one person to make the initiative. Great job on this and keep your head up

This free verse write is a powerfully emotive and passionate write that depicts the power of love over us. We are designed to give and take love. It has unexplainable hold on us, but you have expressed it well! :0 GracieAnn

You cannot expect me to

Do I miss you?

your voice Love physical progression

filling up my quiet rooms filling vs banishing
and
banishing the warning whispers that 'w' allit
you will never hear
because they belong only to me. definitive 'me'

I crave the taste of your skin great line
on my tongue
and
the warmth and welcoming haven of
your arms
wrapped around mine
in the very best loving hug ever...

send me long...lovely....letters
each one drafted to remind me
that you still care crescendo of 'that's'
that you are thinking about me
that there is still a place
in your heart that WHAT remains of
your need for us.

Enjoyed the sensuality tempered by the desperation of a woman scorned. (just guessing here)

This was a really powerful free verse that I felt really evoked a strong emotion. I was slightly dismayed at first by the repetition of rage, but it strikes as almost a subtle incoherence which is viable when someone is angry. Great work on this piece, thanks for sharing.

This is a very beautiful romantic love poem, written in the free verse style, about wanting correspondence from the missed lover. Nice picture.
