Hi, Brooke. LOL.. Cute as cute can be. btw...I like the pix of Sawyer in then blue bunny uniform on the other side of the screen.

"He pilfered spots from butterflies,
their wings now drab and dreary,
and plucked the silver from the stars,
the world now sad and weary."

Good write, Brooke. Bob

Thanks so very much, Bob - my daughter takes such great pictures of him. I can't wait for Halloween - so far she has a lion outfit and a bear. I doubt she is finished yet. LOL :-) Brooke

A nice humorous children's tale about an angry, bad tempered little boy stealing away all the joy. Great ending to have mum tucking him into bed for a sleep and a cute picture to set up this story poem.

Where do you come up with these wonderful lines?
-'He grabbed the hop away from frogs, he swiped the sour from pickles,'
You did one on Leander before, didn't you? I see him sneaking around doing each and every one of these horrible things. You've made him come alive in your evenly-metered, rhyming quatrains.

What a face on Sawyer! LOL Did someone steal his tickle?

Yep, the last one on Leander was also when Sawyer was having a slightly naughty moment. LOL He has been fussy at meal times lately, throwing food at Mommy! LOL Thanks so much, Ellen :-) Brooke

You're such a wonderful poet! I don't know how you think of all these things: the hop away from frogs, the perfume from the flowers, the spots away from butterflies. So clever! Just beautifully written, Brooke. There used to be one or two leander's at school when my kids were little. Sheryn :-)

Brooke,

You continue to pen these wonderful little tales, but I just will not believe any of this was Sawyer's doing, not for a minute...you have a great imagination for these children's poems, I really enjoy them...starlight was just about enough...lol..you have a gift for these well written quatrain verses, and I do hope you intend to put together a book, if only for that little fellow...Thanks so much for sharing this with us it was a fun read...(I know he would never do such things!)....Good luck in the contest!

Big Hugs,
Victoria

That's some expression on Sawyer's face! Little ones convey feelings they don't even realize they have. LOL
This is a great poem, with a superb enumerating of the "evils" of Leander!!

Dear Brooke, the six is for Cutie Pie....I'm telling you just looking at that picture and his expression had me laughing a very long time. A truly priceless pose for him.

And this poem is so skillfully penned it's an exceptional beauty. I loved it. Perhaps it was the delight held within it, I mean we all have these days....but from a child it is both cute and lighthearted - always the tucking in at night was the greatest moment of love shared. Simple and pure as most kids are when they love.

Do you remember the rhyme Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers....my kids loved to hear that from me just at bedtime, they would say "faster mummy" and I always did...faster and faster till they were laughing their heads off...Your work in this post reminds me of that moment....it felt the same to me somehow.

A simple yet beautiful expression of love. - hope I explained that well. My head is a bit of a mess at the moment.

Thanks so much for sharing this exceptional post. I loved it.
Maureen
