AWw, Kay, that was so sad, and such a lovely ending, what a lovely story. You wrote it beautifully and so vividly. I havenīt seen the film, but if it was half as good as the way you wrote it, I would love to see it. This is a brilliant entry for the contest, I donīt know whether I could write one in time, or any where near as good as yours. Well done my dear friend, I really enjoyed it. Good luck in the contest. xsx Sandra

I will write you an e-mail later, it has been a hard few days and I just havenīt had time to come on here as much, let alone write! xxxx

This is very well told. The mysterious boy was a highlight for me. Story kept my interest all the way through. Just enough characters for this short piece. The intenseness of the scene of dead soldiers was done with compassion and fear. War is so horrid. I enjoyed the ultimate love story.

Thank you friend, glad you liked my story; mainly a poet but I thought I would try a short story - blessings, Kay.

I could read your writing all day my friend. I think I must have missed the orange grove/daughter reference though. I shall re-read when I get a chance (I shall bookcase this one)
War tends to make or break us, sort of like life I guess.
thank you and good luck,
karen

Wow, This says fiction but your author's notes make us feel like portions of it is truth. Excellent piece and nothing we can see that needs changing with it. God girl, you got that writing bug. God loves you and se do too.

Very nice story involving people who barely have enough for themselves helping others, help them. Having spent 3 years in Wiesbaden, Germany I can envision what is going on in the story and the type of environment that the shooting occurred on. Very nicely written and the flow was great, everything tied in together. Heroes and Happiness. Nice ending, creative, and a good intro for Part II. No work needed from my view. Great short story!

Thank you friend, I enjoyed writing my version of Miracle at Santa Anna. Can you write about Wiesbaden or is it too painful? Blessings, Kay.

I will try to write something about Wiesbaden. I have some old poems from when I was there, but nothing new. Nothing but wonderful times and travel throughout Germany, Turkey, Amsterdam, London, etc while I was in the Army. I'll let you know when I do. Thanks for stirring the memories. Have a great night!
