You told a very eventful story about your various Triumphs. It kept me interested all the way through and was written with a lot of fun explanations to achieve this. That was a good ending that makes you want to know more. I loved it.

I'm trying to catch up with you but I have a lot to read first to get to chapter 16. I'm enjoying it immensely.

probably a good idea not jumping ahead. I need to eventually do some new editing of old chapters but you will be informed now you are a fan when I do that I think. Gott agop to bed soon going to the plaza tomorrow for eye test and to order some new SUn Glasses (optical) spend the $200 Cash back we got from Fujitsu when we bought the latest a/c in the lounge room to replace the Dinosaur 16 yr old one that died when it was still cold at night Brrrr.

You seem to have some rollicking memories to share in your car memoirs, my friend!

The $20 car made me smile.

Did you meet Christ through YFC? I love to hear the tales of people's personal journeys.

Bless you. :)

No I was saved at the age of 8. If you visit either the church site I run www.nepeanbaptist.org and look for Testimony page in the Index or the Testimony page on my own Web Site at www.funnymentalist.net I am still friends with a couple who come to Christ through YFC I met them about the time I was at the YFC I mentioned in the Book Chapter. There will be more about my Christian activities and so on as we progress through the book we are about half way now I think but still coming back for more editing. Appreciate your interest in me and the book. If you wanted to share a testimony I can add you to my Web Site Testimony page if you like. What is your background with the Lord? I will be 63 in March.

I was miraculously healed of two incurable diseases 25 years ago. Was saved about three years prior to that. Am presently very involved in the healing/intercessory ministry. My story is on our church website - video (if you are interested). How lovely to read yours.

Hi ok might do that. I do believe God does heal but I get a bit tired of the benny the Roosters and Kenneth Copeless etc that really get folks out of the audience that are not sick to make out they are healing them. Oral Roberts could have healed all the folks in his hospital and closed it down. Same with Benn Hin
Don't get me wrong, I DO BELIEVE GOD CAN AND DOES HEAL I j8ust don't believe in these big money grabbing large public healing services. I think of all the times Christ healed and there was no one else around. Even us Baptists have had the odd healing service very occasionally hehe. sorry off my soap box.

This just happened between me and God in my room, my friend. I think we put God in a box, sometimes. I know what you mean about the TV stuff. I just stick to my Bible and one on one with the Father. :)

I m with you we are still in the "old money" days huh! What is your vintage? Have you see Chapter 6 before I added the bits about my trips with my brother? Remind me are you up around Tweed Heads ??
Thanks for the review. Did you have trouble with Fan Story web site early this arvo?
reply by michaelcahill on 04-Sep-2013
did see it before. the additions add much to the story. the personal touches are always welcome especially with your style that is very conversational. a bit far from Tweed Heads, Los Angeles, California, U.S. HA! guessing "arvo" is evening? yes, it was not coming up at all and then taking forever. looks sorted out now. oh. vintage? is that age? 61 and counting. just a pup. hahaha! mike

The writing is flawless and easy to follow, good story telling. If I may, could but give this insight a thought. Everyday, everyday conversations are taking place with everyday language. I think the joy of reading is seeing a story develop as simple and basic as it is, with a bit of spice and not so bland detail, yet flavorful speech, so I have given an example of how simple thoughts can be vibrant ones as wells.

I, like everyone I know and you know, always looked forward to the day I would have a license to drive a car. This was only outdone by the overwhelming desire to have my own vehicle. However, the vehicle is not much good without the license huh!

What teen can you imagine hadn't always pictured that first day-- legally taking the reigns of a moving car. Yes I was not unlike you. This desire trumped, only by every teen's next overwhelming hope-- a vehicle of their own. However, back to the original point, there's a bit of a limit on the potential of the vehicles you own, without the license, huh!

Yes we are talking about voice and there is no right and wrong voice, as long as grammar is intact. Yes your voice is flawless. Yet I find it does have a glaring cliche sound "So there I was: moving with great difficulty" does this give enough of your personal, personality. I feel anybody could have authored what you just wrote, the question, how to make it, uniquely you...?!

I like writing because it takes more than perfect grammar to pull off a story, to make it engrossing, enticing. Oh what gem, the element, pearl of wonder hidden deep in the throws of writing, how she pulls the reader in... when the writer mines her gift. Five star for perfect writing but I wonder is there more of you to be excavated.

blessings Javier

Hi mate thanks for the thoughts this is just about me and not looking to be a drama or a saucy love tryst or anything ok. This Biography not a Novel but FS doesn't give us the option apart from the classification to not call it a "Novel" This book is more for friends and not expected to be a "best seller " or anything. Thanks for your encouragement.

Hi Sankey, this is starting to read really well. Your love of cars and teenage freedom is great and a lot of people have crashes when they learn to drive. Well written and engaging chapter about the cars you loved in your youth. Well done, Pete :)

Thanks mate. Some people are wondering where all this is going, and I appreciate you and others staying with me. I pointed out to another reviewer there is a second part to the title of this book and that makes it clearer it is "God Never Lets Go!"

That's a cool story about your family vacation trip. I would go on trips with my family. To Wisconsin Dells and spend a lot of money. We would stay at a campground or in a hotel. We would go out to eat. We would go too the water show when they opened it up. That was real good.

The driving experience and ownership of the first car is always exciting for the new driver. I failed my first driving written test at eighteen because I didn't study the questions concerning distance. I always has problems with numbers. I didn't try again until I was twenty-four. Most of my accidents have been backing up. LOL

In the first Tri¢¿½umph, (Evuk Eddie?)

I found this section of your story difficult to follow, maybe because I'm not particularly interested in cars. I found the 'flow' was missing, with distractions where you bring us back to today...it loses the story format. An example would be,

'I feel quite sure the little Triumph's front end took most of the damage. Probably a forerunner to the Volvo in safety for the driver...joke! joke! Just an aside; (tangent ok)my mother had always said, and it's worth repeating, here, for any new drivers/owners of cars: "If you can't afford Third party Property Damage Insurance on your car, then you CAN'T AFFORD TO DRIVE IT"!!

IMO a straight, story-telling of some of the experiences you had with your early cars would be much better; leaving out those reminders of a writer at work.

Hello Sankey,
It's a nice piece of Biographical Non Fiction beautifully depicting the whole episode about the narrator's lack of smartness in getting the Driving License at an early age; the new cheap car, but practically not so cheap, bought for him by his eldest brother Richard; while driving, the punishments which were faced for negligent driving, lack of brake shoes, spare parts, due to some minor accidental faults the car's color was changed into red one and it came to be known as 'RED TERROR'. Moreover, it ultimately collapsed in the end.
Its language is simple, having smooth captivating flow with nice imagery.
On the whole, it's interesting and has a humorous touch.
