This is just so good and so true about telemarketers. I don't pick up the phone on numbers I don't know then I plug them into Google Search and most of them have complaints against them. Thanks for the grin on my face - Dinah

This is a fun poem which also makes a pertinent point about underhand marketing tactics.
The verse flows well with regular rhythm and rhyme and you have the telemarketer off pat.
The comma after time in stanza 7 is not needed.

Setting aside the author's notes for a sec...this is exactly how it goes!
They call to say you've won a trip...
all you must do - is commit
to "an hour or two"
hearing a pitch you can't refuse!
(Oh yeah, and pay a small booking fee,
to cover incidental costs, you see).
Aarrrgh!!!
(thank god for the government call restricting registry)
The poem is well written - great rhyme and meter construction.
(As to the author's notes..your friends have my sincere sympathy. After a continuing hassle, we legally "gifted" the deed to our timeshare back to the original selling consortium and walked away.)

Thank you so much for the review on this. I loved reading your funny comments. I need to find out how to legally gift the deed to the timeshare back. I have several friends who would be interested.

Nice. I've never been bothered with things like that. Good thing about living rural in a small town ....In Nevada!LOL
I would never buy anything someone was selling over the Phone. This is cute Beth. A good warning for our friends. Nancy

Thank you for the review Nancy. I didn't realize there were places on earth where the telemarketers could reach you. Lucky you. LOL

We get our share but no Exotic vacations or time share cottages.

I love the way you rhymed the conversation and it still sounded like it really would. Next time I win one of their deceptive trips, i'll be thinking of this and probably start rhyming to them without realizing it, LOL. Great job.

You've hit it perfectly. Your poem is what we have all felt at those annoying calls at dinner time. The timeshare thing is right too. Once you're in that room they will try anything to make you sign. Great work.

Thank you so much for the six star review. I'm so glad this poem resonated with you. You are so right about the high pressure you're under if you listen to the timeshare presentation.

Cute and oh so true. This poem is a delightful read. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Love the rhyming. Your writing club must be kind of fun. True about the timeshare. Never did get rid of mine. Nice job!
