This poem really speaks to my heart. I love nature and gravitate toward water every chance I get. You bring the whole scene to life. I can smell the lake, the flowers, the trees. Even the dirt path. Lovely. Through your words, I am there! Congratulations on another superior work!

Thank you Arlene, lakes are great. It was an asphalt path. I appreciate the complement.

Great combination of the Quintets and Quatrains.
i used to mix my rhyming scheme and to the ire of reviewers, they soon accept that the structure and rhyming can be combined to reduce the mundane format in the poem.
Great combination and rhyming with a good beat too!
A walk by the lake and to admire the scenery around us. Can really take our breath away at times and just stand there to feel how beautiful the world is.
Great write and well penned. Lovely poem with an eye for details and nature opening up freely.
Cheerio, best, Ritchie. :))

I enjoyed your combining two forms, along with their regular syllable pattern and rhymes. Thank you for sharing the "serene" lakescape and alliteration of "s's"--I did not realize there are so many small lakes in Minnesota. Your photo is a perfect example of composing a picture! Smiles- Joan

A well-penned poem as the beauty of nature and habitat of man complement one another to create great visual imagery;
God's artwork truly graces our land as you give thanks to the wonder of his powers.
Excellent!

It sounds like a really nice walk you took around the lake. Complemented with your own nice photo once more. I wished I had been there with you to see this beauty.

I too, went for a walk today. This is a lovely poem and my favourite verse is this one...
I walked the path around the lake
With choice of directions to take.
I chose the way that's most serene,
To see the sights that might be seen,
Where willows blend with evergreen.

the poem is written on the serenity and beauty of mother nature.. The words r simple yet soothing and gives the feeling of peace with nature..
Its amazing how with such ease the poem is written and a touch of softness and rhythmic tune to it make it more heart pleasing..
All in all a nice way to get close to nature and having the feeling of freshness while reading the verses..

I am sure that is a lovely walk. I like to take walks around lakes. It is so peaceful and serene, especially if there is a lot of bird life. Good poem and thanks for sharing.
