I don't know about wishing for its demise. This is a classic children's story. So it's simple and meaningless, did it not put a smile tiny out kids faces. They can relate to it simplicity and charectors.

I found your satire, hilarious. Honestly, once they are introduced as bears, it kind of just goes over our heads, because you automatically think of Goldilocks and the Three Bears...

Great ending... John

"So it's simple and meaningless, did it not put a smile tiny out kids faces. They can relate to it simplicity and charectors." I agree but what I don't get is all the things that are read into it over the years by the literary experts. Thanks for reveiwing! Dennis

I wasn't referring to yours as simple and meaningless. I meant the original as far as I'm concerned reading it on its surface is a simple story.
Personally, I take it for that. If people choose to go in a dissect it looking for hidden meaning, so be it. Don't be offended, nothing at all was pointed towards you. John

I'm orry if I came across as offended. I really wasn't. I was just trying to clarify my thoughts on the tory. Thanks for caring enough to reply in this manner. God bles, Dennis

This was a unique twist to the common tale which I used to love as a kid.
One typo:
"Bring them to the witness box and let[']s hear their story.

Brook already beat you to that one. I hate (LOL) you reviewers who have integrity enough to point out a flaw in my masterpiece! :) Thanks, Dennis

Goldilocks is one of my children's stories encouraging crime. What about Hansel and Gretel pushing that old woman into the oven! Talk about violence.

Thank you. The damages are truly insignificant. A little porridge gone, a few slats broken, and a few sheets to wash. No, it's the emotional trauma we've suffered. How can we put a price tag on that? Our home has been violated, our son traumatized and my husband embarrassed."

This is the heart of the satire. Well done. And I love the ending. What a cute skit this would make to entertain lawyers. :-)

Thank you! Yes, those childrens' stories are often full of violence, altho Hansel and Gretal could perhaps plead self-defense? Dennis

That would make for an interesting write. Shari

This is quite a touch of brilliance here...you get the reader going because the court scene sounds pretty darn authentic that you barely or (bearly)as the case might be notice that we are reading about bears here and so her last line is just a beaut...I hope I can get rid of this grin on my face before I go to bed - thanks - Dinah

You wrote this parody to begin its demise? I don't think so Goldilocks and the three bears is a great story for kids. they love the simplicity of it, and also it involves themselves as baby bear, and their parents as mammy bear and daddy bear.
It is a very good write in the style of a court case and it is funny. Bimbo I mean Bimba. Mary

I don't expect its demise anytime soon but I am objecting to the experts who analyze everything to death, finding depth where there is none. Thanks for reviewing ny work! Dennis

I really liked you little story! It held up to real life of what happens in court and you notice that things are strange, but the real humor is when she points out the obvious that the plaintiffs are bears. I mean you realize that when reading but for some reason I found it funny when she pointed that out.

let's hear their story - add apostrophe for contraction of let us
I just love Miss Bimba's closing retort. LOL That one might keep me laughing for an hour.
Great dialogue. A fun retelling of the Goldilocks story in dialogue/courtroom format. Brooke :-)
