AWESOME! I'm guessing the woman is gone becuz she no longer is alive, which makes this a very beautifully heart wrenching love poem. The specific memories are so incredible, asking her to be his wife, the wedding, & the imagery is so vivid. The details about enjoying the grandkids alone & sharing her memory with them, it's all so sweet & so intense, even tho simply stated. This is the kind of poem that knocks your socks off with such a poignant slice of life. It's not even stated dramatically, it's understated, even. That adds to the melancholy.

wow thank you so much first for the high rating you have given this and again for the lovely words you have bestowed upon my verbal painting..Much is reality mixed with a bit of imagination of just what one feels with his grand kids on his knee. Easier for me as I do have two but I might fit better on their kneee now than my own lol
