the title caught my eye
I love titles
your words kept my attention
I adored the soft quiet pace and tone
it so adds to the beauty
however with that said
the beauty lies first within your words
they are heartfelt and reach the reader
emotion and illusion are two elements of poetry
this entry has met both those elements
I somehow fall short but I keep striving but I certainly know how to spot it when I see it and hear it
thank you for sharing your talent
all is well with this poetic entry
title theme words presentation and format

I'm not sure man was ever designed to endure grief. Your poem is haunting. It reflects an emptiness that is beyond our ability to fathom when all is right in our world. But when we grieve our loved ones we are breathing life into the memories that we need to hold dear. They deserve our grief. That is how I feel about my dad. he has been gone 13 years but I can still feel his presence. And it is in my sadness that I feel him the strongest.

Yes, how can we forget them. When the memories float do not feel darn because she reminded us to think of them and feel happy.
Somehow they never died in our minds. Though we are lonely now, but have they not filled our hearts with joy - even now as we typed? Think that they never died, they just took leave to visit their in-laws perhaps, and then the pain and haunting will ease.
Only the lonely will feel lonely but with them in our hearts forevermore what loneliness can there be with an album full of those memories?
Try to shed a tear to show our love for them. This can be comforting too, if that helps.
Great write and well penned.
Cheerio, Ritchie.

Welcome, Mr. Knight.
Time to polish the tarnished armor and learn how to see your happy reflection in that polished shining armor - do it for your wife at least. Smiles.
Best, Ritchie.

Well you did a superb poem, I love the simplicity of how the images roll down with imagery and emotion of what it was but is no more, but the memories remain. Great choice of song. Love it. Hugs. Pili

The speaker sits at his keyboard feeling lonely and starts to type his feelings. His memories of his departed wife escape to the keyboard but does little to relieve him of his loneliness. Good rhyming quatrains. Kenny

This is a truly wonderful poem, I enjoyed it from start to finish, so well written and it flowed so well, rhymed well, it told a story of a happy times and the sadness of loosing your loved one. I can imagine so many identifying with it.
All I have are memories now
Of your smile and your kiss
Really never knew how much
Your loving I would miss
On this lonely keyboard
I am typing lonely words
Echoing voices and visions
That once I saw and heard
Beautiful well done Mary

What a perfect song choice to highlight the excellent ode to a no longer present loved one. It is both sad and a little funny to do the things you talked about doing in the future, having to look at the empty space where the missing loved one was supposed to be. This is a very sad and heartbreaking poem. Very good work T.K.

love the sung. Like to know how to do it. The poem Is lovely. Like these >First words of our children
The love of their mother too
Just seem to echo in my mind
As I sit here and write to you
Funny how the memories
Of such a distant past
Seem to always haunt me
Damn, time has gone so fast

A beautiful writing of love full of warmth
and poignant thoughts as they spiral down
the screen slowly whispering a tale of
love and devotion on a wonderful ride
on life's road as you bring down memories
from the attic of the past.
Well done
