Sure would like to hear the music to this.

The lyrics ring so true and tell the real reason for the Christmas season.

Last line says all that needs to be stated.

Yes, indeed, Geoff, he is the reason why we celebrate Christmas.
I really liked your lyrics and I read them while I listened to the music. I do hope you had a lovely day. Ulla:)))

Thanks Ulla glad you heard them. I think it is on MP3 in here, now, originally on Midi which meant only PC users could hear it. This was the latest of the four carols I wrote. Much later than the other 3. I have added an index to the introduction now. Should have done that ages ago. Hope you have a good day today! How many Grandkids now?
reply by Ulla on 25-Dec-2021
Three granddaughters, and I haven't seen them for two years now because of Covid. Every time, I think I'm going a new strain comes up. The live in Denmark almost 3000 kms from Spain. Before all this it was never a problem. tthey are now between 3 and 10 years old. I do miss them. And my brother and family in America are all down with Covid, bar my brother so their Christmas is cancelled. They are all vaccinated, but some have underlying issues.
I'm fine, and I hope you are as well.
reply by the author on 25-Dec-2021
We are fully vaccinated and fine. Sorry about all your dramas and not seeing the grandkids etc. We do Christmas alone by choice. we had small gatherings with parts of Louise's family. My family dowanna know us. We will have the booster next month now they are bringing them forward...would have been February.
reply by Ulla on 25-Dec-2021
Sigh, I hope we will all learn to live with this. I'm still optimistic. :)))

Ulla I fear it is a continuing thing, sadly. As we were leaving the church car park yesterday...there was a big lineup for the COVID testing centre across from the church. Holidays here and people getting tested before they go interstate or something. Some nut came around the corner from te opposite side to all the cars lined up and jumped into the queue ahead of a LOT of people. Horns blared etc but we were not around to see any road rage that might have happened.
reply by Ulla on 25-Dec-2021
Oh, I agree, what I meant was that we have to look earn to live by this new life.

Yes, he was and is the sacrifice for the sins of man, The job He had was complete without regret. We are so fortunate to be created by a God of love. Well done Bro.

AMEN! Bro and His virgin birth was necessary so as not to inherit the sin nature from Adam! Thanks for coming by. I might add an index of the carols to the Introduction page.

Beautifully penned and illustrated poem with the true meaning of Christmas inside. You ask many pointed, soul searching questions, I hope will stir many. Marvelous offering and an older one, I see.
Sending you my best today as always, and blessings for Christmas,
Sal XOs

This is a great little Christmas song. I've heard the tunes to some of the songs you have written in the past. You used to be able to put them on. You are very talented.

Very nice piece, right to the point. I had no problems getting the midi to play.
Carol trivia: Did you know O Holy Night was originally a poem?
on Christmas Eve 1906, Reginald Fessenden-a 33-year-old university professor and former chief chemist for Thomas Edison-did something long thought impossible. Using a new type of generator, Fessenden spoke into a microphone and, for the first time in history, a man's voice was broadcast over the airwaves: "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed," he began in a clear, strong voice, hoping he was reaching across the distances he supposed he would.

Shocked radio operators on ships and astonished wireless owners at newspapers were amazed as their normal, coded impulses, heard over tiny speakers, were interrupted by a professor reading the Christmas story. To those who caught this broadcast, it must have seemed like a miracle to hear a voice somehow transmitted to those far away. Perhaps they may have thought they were hearing the voice of an angel. Fessenden was probably unaware of the sensation he was causing on ships and in offices; he couldn't have known that men and women were rushing to their wireless units to catch this Christmas Eve miracle. After finishing his recitation of the birth of Christ, Fessenden picked up his violin and played "O Holy Night," the first song ever sent through the air via radio waves.

Since "O Holy Night" was first sung at a small Christmas mass in 1847, the song has been sung millions of times in churches in every corner of the world. And since the moment a handful of people first heard it played over the radio, the carol has gone on to become one of the most recorded and played spiritual songs. This incredible work, requested by a forgotten parish priest, written by a poet who would later split from the church, given soaring music by a Jewish composer, and brought to Americans to serve as much as a tool to spotlight the sinful nature of slavery as tell the story of the birth of a Savior has become one of the most beautiful, inspired pieces of music ever created. The Lord can work in amazing ways to his Word to proclaim.

Thankyou so much dear Bro in the Lord I am guessing for the great info. O Holy Night was a favourite of a late former pastor I used to play it for him to sing each Christmas. Now with the Lord over a year. Will add you to my fans list nice to meet you.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. I can tell it was definitely inspired. I am not at all happy with the way Christmas has been ripped apart. It seems society has forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. Good luck with the contest. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
