I would have, if I had one left, sixed this just because of the raw emotion: the honesty of the encapsulated pain and suffering. I felt every word of the first 10 lines. You've done well with the rhymes, couplets, near and perfect, too, and though the syntax is a bit awkward at times, it flows well. I hope Crist heals this torn soul, it finds peace, and, perhaps, someday, a new love--more perfect. Kenny

When a relationship feels like a prison, there is something very wrong, and you had the courage to admit that. Without give and take and mutual respect, it just won't work. It takes two people and two brains. Good for you!

Eloquently penned, elegantly stated, Belinda...
I loved the flow of this piece, the ebbing of the poetic prose seemed to build like a crescendo and come crashing to shore like high tide. So many women (and some men, as well) are trapped in a prison of their own making. What courage and determination one must need to possess to finally rise up and get out of it.
