This sounds very true to course. I lived it for 32 years and truly all abuse was kept behind closed doors. I think anyone that has lived through it has something worthwhile to share. God loves you and I do too.

Yes. I stayed for 20 years and only in the last four or five years did the abuse begin to bleed over into our public life. Thank you for reviewing my poem and for the excellent rating.

It is a wonderful poem which says of pain and spiritualiy.though we may get betrayed on loving a person,believing and loving him never disappohnts.the quatrains are rhyming well and the pain you get kind of traps one.well done

a very well written poem. you wrote a rhyming flow for the fist part, and not the second. some people have the tendency to call misery prison, but being a fighter for survival will help you get through the pain.

I had a rocky first marriage. Yelling and fighting to the point I left, to save my sanity. I swore off relationships, figuring I was poor at choosing a mate. My wife of 35 yrs. moved in with my friend and I as a roommate, many years ago, and never left. Happiness is out there, and some times it seeks you out. Bless your heart, all my best, Ridley

Very moving piece on a failed relationship and yu overcoming it with your faith. I do believe men have the same imprisonment in some of their relationships but will not admit it as it is not the manly thing to do.. good flow with this I appreciate the good writing
