This seems to suggest somewhat what I recently wrote in Where has the Tribe Gone? In that we're disconnected as a society, and when we're in a group we're texting when there's real live people in front of us to share life with. Strange. Your rhyming flows, not like some where you can tell the poem was written for the rhyme. Don't know what kids would think of your poem. Probably that it must be an old man who wrote it and doesn't get it. LOL. Time will tell who's right. This really clicked with me! Les

Les: This was not meant as a rant but a sincere warning which the photo alone should have expressed to many. We are a people SIMPLY LOSING TOUCH. Without touch, there is a major conduit for Love gone missing! I know from your writing that I'm preaching to the angels so I do understand that rapid and effective communications today is critical for business competitiveness and I carry an iPHONE like many but seldom text. My life has been mostly invested in creating technologies but now I see in retrospect my only true joy was giving the love that went into my Lyrics and Poetry. I see a similar passion in you and that's why I so deeply respect your work and your reviews....and for certain....your friendship!! Many thanks for the generous sixer and Blessings.....Vance

Bravo! It's a scary world anymore as we hand over our lives to machines. (However, I make an exception for the GPS navigator). If only students applied this "gift" of concentration on studeis. Instead they are blindsided by tweets and Facebook. At least FS fosters production. :-)

We are not only losing our love to technology, we are losing our grasp of reality. Let the techno stuff go down and we stand in awe and wonder what do we do now. Even infant toys are techno now. Remember playing with a stick in the yard? It might make us rich, but it makes us lose our imaginations and thinking abilities. Can't spell? Use spell check. Can't figure out how to determine mortgage payments, use the computer program. Who needs to know their multiplication tables nowadays? Nothing infuriates me more than to go to the bank and be told, "We can't check on that now, the computers are down." Ever try to talk to a teenager? Impossible. Their eyes and fingers are too busy with their "I" this or that techno product. Super write!

Thanks so much for your energetic and meaningful review and of course I share the passion of what's happening here. I have spent my life in technology but now I thank God that I spent as much time on educational products as I did on computers (mostly to run machines...not people) but as you say, it's taken a wrong turn and become a form of GOD to our kids where I mean these things represent: Their trust, their power, their omnipresence, their, respect, their love (make that "infatuation"), their real 'VALUE SYSTEM' and their nearly constant "abidance' I can't imagine they actually honor and pray to these devices. Thanks again and keep thinking how we can FIX THIS FAST! VANCE

I'm sorry in a way to RANT against these "weapons of class destruction" but so fearful of their outcomes. Thank you for your encouraging review, it is greatly appreciated. I hope I did not offend people for just using an iPHONE or smart phone as I do too but the "never disconnect" situation with the younger ones is morphing into the older ones now and we are adopting sincerely BAD habits. In a book of the mid 80's "MEGATRENDS" the author predicted a coming dilemma called HIGH TECH HIGH TOUCH. saying we would get so involved in technology that things like STARBUCKS and social issues would grow due to our need to "touch' each other. He was right but only for awhile, now it's HIGH TECH NO TOUCH! GOING THE OTHER WAY. THIS IS A SOCIAL PHENOMENON WE HAVE TO SEE AS DANGEROUS AS I BELIEVE... a KISS IS STILL A KISS..A SMILE IS STILL A SMILE! thanks again for the kind review. VANCE
