A lovely poem, certainly appropriate for its original purpose, but it would also work for anyone waiting for a loved one who has been away for a while. Nicely done.

Good morning Cornelius,
Indeed it is certainly appropriate for anyone waiting for a truly-missed loved one.
Everything this poet lived for is in that one final sentence of this tiny poem.
As someone much wiser than I once shared with me, god must have needed him more than I did.
He died less than a month after I wrote this poem in the spring of 2009.
I wrote about him in a very happy poem called "rapscallions gifts".
I offer it, not for potential reviews but for your enjoyment.
It is a celebration poem.
Peace, hugs and lots of smiles,
Jill

The writer delivers a message filled with love and passion and add sincerity. The words allow the reader to feel the impact of the words written. This piece holds my attention from start to finish as the authors notes make the message more clear.

Beautiful. When you miss someone very much you do want to use things of theirs, wrap yourself up in a piece of their clothing, anything to feel that connection and bring them closer to you. Nicely done.

Your notes are a wonderful guideline for the
reader...The original was for such a great
cause. Your heart shows beautifully in the lines
as you describe your feelings and actions during
your loves absence. Gorgeous art and lovely words
to match. Thanks!

Lovely poem and I'm sure the soldiers loved it, tho it was bound to cause some sadness as well, reminding them of what they'd left... worried wives and gfriends. All of these wars are so stupid anyway. Just a waste of blood and money.

I enjoyed this very much. Even before reading your notes at the end, I found this to be a sentimental poem of devotion, yearning and hope. What a fantastic contribution to our people giving of themselves to a political and humanitarian cause of such magnitude. Nice one!
