I was a bit thrown off when reading this that the third stanza didn't follow the same format as the rest, however, a moment of clarity showed me that as it was the 'center' stanza as it were, that was done on purpose, and that made me feel much better about the whole thing. Funny how that works isn't it? :)
You've taken a common sentiment and fear, and managed to capture it, and all the emotion that comes with it in this piece. I liked the fact that though there is hope, you still ended on a sad note, somehow doing

This is so sharp it could cut you- in a good way of course! You don't need my little review but it is absolutley wonderful! Your choice of words make it seem very well thought out ... it is so full of despair and darkness...with a bit of hope somewhere in the center! Really it was a moving piece that I enjoyed reading tonight.

Good write. Enjoyed reading this, since this is the state of mind one feels to try and drink away their problems. And most feel this is their way out, yet the poem centered on the devastation and sadness of the person. Creatively put and very imaginative. Held my attention.Claudette

Great verse, Mr. Grunty! The emotions are strong and almost tangible. There is despair but there is also always hope. I little drinking, some feeling down, then on to the next of life's little adventures. :)

I cry, for the hopelessness of some.
