I really can identify with this one, I have been on this site since October 2004, and I have come to understand unless you are willing to spend a great deal on each posting there is a possibility that your work will never been seen...but fear not as the rankings mean very little, I have read some wonderful poem, that never see the light of day..I have decided, I enjoy the craft have acquired through the years some wonderful reviewers that keep me on the straight and narrow...The site is a business, and as I am also, I understand the bottom line is money..
Don't get discouraged, write for your own enjoyment things can always change...Thanks for sharing.

I just met two poems by you and they both did not pay more than two cents. Could that be the reason perhaps? Or maybe you need to collect more fans? Please do continue writing.

Thanks Ine. Good suggestions. I try to put certificates on as soon as I can, but I on a pension, and at 20 to 32, cents, often 2 cents, it takes all day to earn one. If I write two poems, I get one behind every day, so I try, but it's hard. But I'll keep trying.

Thanks Ine, yes I do that too! It helps. To see where I'm coming from, read the note I just posted on my profile. Undeniably, this site takes a lot of energy, or money. Certificates are $9.93 or $6.63. Writing prompt/ contests cost $5. pumps cost $2,95. I've figured that it costs at least $100 to get on that first page. I wish I could afford, and yes I do enter all the free contests.

Ok, I already gave you my two cents about the downer point of view. This is a good a rant as most (I would have given4 stars 'cause it is really just good not above average) but I didn't want to add to your frustration. Your 29 on the Fanstory boards so it can't be that NO ONE is reading your work...you don't get to 29 that way. People seem to like short pithy humor poetry. Maybe do a humor competition but promote it even if you aren't the winner that seems to pick up some following. I guess the bottom line is that ultimately we write for our own souls even though we crave recognition! Twinks
