Well Done ~ Beth

This poetry is a fun read. The rhymes used naturally
and it flows smoothly. It make me think that this
would be a great children's poem. It held my interest
from start to finish. The attached photo is a mirror
that reflects the message. Thank You for your creation.

Thank you so much for the great review. I had fun writing it. One reader who is a first grade teacher intends to share it with her first grade class. Thanks for reading and commenting.

That's political satire at its best, for me. Instead of mordant it's light and easy to digest. Fantastic bounce off the pic with the trunk hoovering up all the grain. Smart little Hettie, and Roger needs to pick up his game to keep up, ha. Or buy a new clock. Cheers for the entertainment. Alyx.

This is a fun read about aninals and chickens as they invade and observe things that are engaged all around them.
hettie hen is very observant and has noted that the huge hunk of an elephant has also invaded her space. She fears the circus animals because they threaten her food and livelihood

Amusing story in a poem. I loved the description of the elephant by the hen: feet like trees, two big flaps, nose hung past his knees. Very nicely written. It made me smile.

Kind regards

Sarah

Good characterization of Hettie the hen as a nosy gossip.
Good simile in stanza 1 of gossip being spread like hay.
Good description of the elephant in stanza 5.
Delightful hen party when the gossips chat about the circus and the elephant.
Overall, a fun poem to read. Thanks for sharing. RodG

Delightful! The poem is long enough to get to appreciate it and it flows effortlessly and whilst we enjoy it because the message is clear it is also quirky and brings a smile. A chicken and an elephant! What an unlikely meeting.
I think your writing group's picture was served well here.

A very funny poem, how the poor chicken was shocked to see the elephant and scamper back to tell her story, had me going from beginning till the end... loved it and the image is just great....
