Lovely poem and photo. Clever set-up, wording, rhythm, progression and flow for an excellent read. Maybe I'll write on someday. How's a Katie-21 written? Thanks for sharing, Deb

Well, you've definitely done the most with the form. Love " star shards spiral round" and the playful layout of the poem. Is that a painting of the moon ( hard to tell as I'm on a tiny mobile device) and if so, do you paint?

You paint a beautiful scene of
a quiet, still night with a giant
moon in a black sky.
I like "star shards" and the
thought that
"God's looking down"

Hi Sharyn, and a beauty it was for the contest. Next time. Loved the creativeness and the expression within this one - always a treat to read your work.
Loved this one too, great artwork as well.
Thanks for sharing it.

What an fascinating concept of a golden hole in the sky in which God peers down at the earth. Gorgeous artwork. I like the way you placed the word why in a segmented fashion. Enjoyed.

There is something so magical about this piece, Sharyn, and for me it is clearly me at home. I love a dark sky, a full moon and the no sound quiet that enhances all else. While the earth sleeps, those of us who don't have free reign to be who we are meant to be... and God does look down but he's more tolerant to those who live under a black curtain sky...

You, as always, rock!

it's a good thing that this short didn't get in the way of writing this great verse. There will be lots of contests, missing one to a senior moment is a shame, but thanks for letting us all see the poem anyway.

Thx Cindy! I'd just underestimated how popular this contest is I think - saw it late at night and thought "hmm, might be interesting, no rush." And by morning it was full! Oh well ... :)Sharyn

God is peering through a hole in the sky. His eyeball is gold, and shines on the earth that is asleep. A katie-21 poem. Ever wonder why Katie chose 21, rather than any other number of syllables? Do you think it has to do with Blackjack--21 or bust?

Excellent job, enlightening, but only after dark.

Cheers,
DW
