Oh, yes it does. Depending on the quality of life, it can seem to last forever. Just have to truly live when we still can. Not looking forward to being an old fart.

Very clever! Quite true. Light hearted piece and good 5-7-5. The artwork pulls it all in. The advice we often get from our elders makes a whole lot of sense, and is usually short and to the point!
Good lesson. And great work!

Cedar,
Your 5/7/5 selection of words and seventeen syllables strike close to home with me as I am in the golden years. Each year seems to pass a little faster than the one before. My ninety-one-year-old father would not agree that it does not last long. It gives one much to think about.

Thank you Curtis. I too am in my golden years, nearly 70. My mother lived to be 90. Have a nice weekend my friend and take care of yourself. Bill

With very few words, this poetry speaks an undeniable
truth. The attached illustration is a befitting accent
that enhances the message. Thank You for your creation.

An excellent Senryu, human sense and sentiment, feeling and emotion well expressed, a nice advice from an old man to a young about old age about keeping attitude and living old age, I enjoyed the eternal lesson. 3/274

Very good and witty senryu and it is also an inescapable truth :( Besides worry has been known to shorten life, so why do it.

Thanks for your review and you're right. Worry just speeds up the process. Have a good weekend my friend.

Okay, you said it. Got a real kick out of this one.
The youth of today have other things to worry about,
so why should they worry about getting older.
But they do. That's why they run for the Botox.
Everyone wants to stay young, but it only lasts for
so long.
Great advice. Hope they take it.
Best of luck in the contest.

Great pairing of poem and art
Your poem is in excellent 5/7/5 form and I just love the nature of your "reassurance" LOL

Thanks Brooke. The "golden years" can be a wonderful thing for some, but a constant struggle for others. Have a nice weekend.
