Ah! Loved the alliteration in the title!
So much to ponder here... Many questions we long to find answers for. Good questions like: "what's next?" And "is anybody keeping the score?"

I've always wondered where we venture after our time is spent. I believe in reincarnation to a point, Particularly those unfortunate souls that take their own life. They need to come back and face their issues or have a better life. this poem poses that question well and it reads really well aloud, Sharyn.

Wow! What a metaphor-- one that all of us can see and feel.
Marvelous internal rhyme and alliteration.
life and death/ are/ one butterfly breath/ apart.
Concrete imagae for an abstract thought. Great possible answers to your spiritual questions.
A whimsical tone as is your style. I love this piece. Sorry, site won't allow me to give a six.

I like this piece. Very good imagery. You really hit the mark you were aiming for - trying to stress the thin line between life and death. "life and death - are - one butterfly breath - apart ..."

Hullo Visionary ...

I really enjoyed this whimsical piece of free-thought writing in which you express your thoughts concerning the end of life and what follows. To your question, I know the answer but not the details. If we live our lives as God intended - to know, love and serve Him in this life so as to be happy with Him forever in the next - we can approach that last moment with wondrous and joyful anticipation, bearing in mind Our Lord's words telling us that no mind can even contemplate that which the Father has prepared for those who love Him. No - we don't vanish ...
we pass into the beginning of eternal life.

This is delightful, Sharyn. A lesser poet would have tried to standardize the verse form, but you have rightly gone for an open weft, with good, natural rhymes falling where they have most effect. One of your best - and that's saying something!

I'm with you, it all come down to trust! You write so well about all our questions after our life's departure. Graceful rhymings in between. My fave lines "or I float like fairy light to heights of blissful limbo
