Like voyeurs,
we wait for her to reappear
so we can wax poetic

Oh yes girl and she does to. Funny, I've always referred to the moon as being a man. You have taken her to the seductive side.

This is a great free verse. The picture complements it so well. Lots of alliteration and imaginary. A joy to read and review. Weather changes are on everybody's mind:)

Hi Sharyn,
I took Jade out to dinner at Angourie on Thursday night and witnessed this beautiful giant full moon rise as we ate. How can it not mesmerize. You did a spectacular job creating such words to accompany this stunning visual. Like voyeurs!. Time to plant the garlic.
Kindest thoughts,
James xx

Thx James ... I was driving home the other night ... light rain for several days ... as suddenly there was literally a 'hole' in the sky and the moon appeared - so bright - with sheets of rain & clouds racing across, but for just a moment - totally clear & beautiful ... no garlic needed! :)))S

I absolutely love this stanza:

Languid,
the full moon
slowly sweeps back
her blowing curtains of soft grey rain
to peer at us
in vast amusement

Such creative thought. Great artwork choice, or did the art inspire the poem? I love to watch the moon, especially when clouds are flowing rapidly underneath it. One of the things that inspire me. Thoroughly enjoyed this read.

actually the art work was the closest I could find to what I saw - I was driving home the other night ... light rain for several days ... as suddenly there was literally a 'hole' in the sky and the moon appeared - so bright - with sheets of rain & clouds racing across, but for just a moment - totally clear & beautiful ... :)))S

Oh, wow and you caught the moon as a being behind the velvet clouds. You have a way of seeing beyond into the abyss and I hope you understand me because I don't know how to say it any other way.

So glad you enjoyed this one too - I really did see it just like this a few nights ago Barb - we'd just had 3 days rain ... and ... there she was ... :)s

Lovely! I like the words you used to describe the looks of the moon. The last line--" wax poetic" love that too. The moon gets written about more than the sun. Perhaps because it is more romantic? Happy Easter
