I'm out of 6's, and I need one. This is the best you've done, to my knowledge, and I'm blown away? One pounding line after another. Stanzas one through four have broken glass edges. Just incredible work. This is visceral. So many terrific lines, but my favorite is "While the boy with the sax Oozed a soggy blues tune." Stunning visual imagery.

VAL...my heart absolutely flys around the room when I see your name on a review!! Then I get all worn out chasing it round the house and jammin' that throbbin sucker back in place...but I'm in a hotel in Fayetteville Arkansas (just caught the sucker three floors up!!) But came to the Fulbright graduate school of music to meet up with my partner RATKO DELORKO (google him) concert pianist from Germany to work on our opera now in about the fourth year of development (I'm writing the libretto) "The Crystal Gate" and that one is takin awhile. Now Bengazi here hit me on the flight in yesterday and it all just rolled out in one ride on the keyboard..I friggin SAW that place in my mind and the buildings, the park the cop, the kid with the sax and boom, it all rolled out because I've been fretting over these terror alerts (was on the SSI council on food safety) and THEY KNOW the f...kers plan to hit our water .... and food BTW but doin F=all about it. So boom...it just rolled out and I'm blown away by your phenomenal review. Long as youre out there I'ma keep tryin!! Thanks a million...Vance

Vance, what the heck are you playing at? Are you trying to dislodge a poor old man from his hinges??!! My dear old boy, there's a message in there somewhere, but I'm blowed if I can fathom it. Actually, I really love the poem. The rhyming's super, and it flows beautifully. I think it's the Bengazi bit that gets me. You'll have to hammer the meaning into my thick skull!!

I used to sit on the food safety council and we got weekly updates from the Langley terror threat team. It used to be dirty bomb was tops, then it's all come down now to food and water and NOBODY is aware of how real that is. Yeah...it IS scary!! Vance

Yes, Vance, I take your point. There was a TV programme about that a year or two ago, where it was shown how easy it would be to poison a city's water.
    Every good wish, Mike.

I started reading, and I picked up a tune. I saw the words you were writing and the meaning came alive. Very Good. I enjoyed it very much. Great job!!!!

Hi Vance,

Well this is a deep thought provoking work. Makes me sit up and take notice of the life going on around me.

Great imagery with your characters. Loved the "cope in the diner making love to his brew" and the boy with the sax oozing blues was fabulous.

Loved it, well penned and creative work.
Thanks for sharing it.
Maureen

Thanks Maureen..It posted immeddiately before I could see and edit it so it's been cleaned up. I used to sit on a safety council with regular reports from Langley on terror threats and now we are down from dirty bombs to food and water...and NOBODY is telling anyone it's coming and what to do. Thats my memo! Hugs!!! Vance
