Thank you Fez. Forbidden love between warring tribes is a very common theme in Native American cultures.

I guess I need to brush up on my history. I do not recall that story. You presented it beautifully and it truly moved me. Thank you for your Author's notes. Peace

Oh I thought this was the one in Tennessee. Evidently, there are lovers everywhere with the same idea? :) Nice flow and rhyme to this poem. Great job. ~Yona

A neat little poem celebrating what looks like a beautiful statue. And of course, such a romantic story.
Good strong meter, which makes the poem easy to read.
Just a discussion point - I wonder if you considered lopping off the opening syllables on lines 2 and 6, which would, I believe, have echoed the meter in Longfellow's famous poem? You might have to modify the last line to -
lovers' leap off (something) falls
but it might be fun to try.
Simply airing thoughts on that one.
Very enjoyable.

A legendary, though clever poem with a the statue's photograph that so enhances this poem & the nature it surrounds & seems to bring beauty, as this poem does also, to this event that is told by the native Indians who lived their so long ago..

Yes, an ancient tale. Thank you.

Very enjoyable take on an old tale. I would replace the first full stop with a comma though, made the end stand out a bit more. And maybe change the 'found' to 'that' to give it mroe of a sense of urgency to the phrasing. Like the photo too.

The legend of Minnehaha and Hiawatha is softly and truthfully viewed reminding the incident of lover's leap, well retold and narrated the essence briefly and vividly, I enjoyed the read.
