I think this is a such a sweet remembrance of a childhood memory. I love the nostalgia of it. My only suggestion is to use a synonym for dreaming as you use it twice close together. Otherwise, great job!

Ah nostalgia..its addictive and the symptoms more pronounced after we retire. Well written, well paced and the descriptive phrases such as "bruised egos, finalizing outlandish plans" push the reader along to the infinite and totally expected conclusion.

Time is really precious and all too often, many of us don't realize just how precious it is until we are too old to engage in the activities we'd like or talked with the ones we should have or done deeds that would make the world a better place. The list goes on. I like your short and crisp story and its nostalgia. Good luck!

Your story is one that I'm sure we all share. Nostalgia is the definition of loss. If we could just return to where we had no responsibilities and everyone was happy and loved us. I could use a peck of wormy apples to toss too.

A very well written and nostaligic piece. It made me think back to my own childhood.I only have a few suggestions. In my opinion, Ithink the repetition of dreaming in the second paragraph is a little awkward. It might sound better to replace one of them with a different word choice. Also, I would have enjoyed if you had expanded on how you used the bad apples as weapons. What kind of games did you play with them and with whom?

i liked this, but it didn't knock me over. many people remember with similar nostalgia those thoughts about lost youth and time gone by. there were some nice word moments especially the last line 'the cryogenic master....keys to unlock the time he froze. more of those would have given an extra star.

I appreciate an author that believes they can say what needs to be said without taking up space just because it is a available. I found a lot of emotion and depth in this short piece.

Where are the old times?
I want to find the cryogenic master and ask for the keys to unlock the time he froze.
The good times are hiding and they won't come back. That's what memories are for guy.
