A very powerful sonnet. Time is beautifully expressed as "Each timeless minute with an hour's endowed
through days and weeks and years our lives are spun." As minutes are completed with each sixty seconds is how we know it, but to time there's no such thing. The last line is an awesome ending:
"As Time - she laughs, and simply turns the page." Superb! Les

Great poem about life and and ending that I think is very profoundly stated. It seems to me as the older you get those pages seem to flip very quickly and before you know it we will be no more :(

This is very brilliant, my friend. I admire your talent greatly. The words are very well chosen and the meaning of the poem is well conveyed. The image of time as a she turning the page regardless of our protest is very captivating. kudos

visionary1234--It's been said that the very second we are
born we start dying. Your challenging sonnet seem to echo
that thought, but more poetic. Your imagery takes reader(s)
through the sequence from the beginning to end, with the
bittersweets in between the two opposing forces. "But..."
of line nine initiates the pivot/turn/revelation that time
stand still for noone, not even the most important people
in our lives. Moreover, your last couplet is the perfect
coda for this discerning write. Good luck in the contest.

C'est la vie is right Sharyn .... where does the time go?

I love your last line ... "As time, she simply laughs and turns the page". Time marches on and we get old before we know it.

Strong abab rhyming with lovely flow to the poem. Strong verbs (woo, birth, pull). Strong adjectives (windy, whirling, rose-filled).

The gorgeous artwork is the perfect complement to your poem.

That is lovely, Sharyn, and also too true! I don't know how I suddenly arrived at this silly age! Time goes by far too fast when we are older, yet drags when we are children. This is such a well written, and very beautiful sonnet contest entry, I just loved it! Good luck in the contest! xsx Sandra
