good use of optional rhyme
you also do a great job of not forcing any lines for the sake of spelling out the acrostic word
you tell the story well of these soldiers who never received the respect they received because of their race

Wow! This is an excellent acrostic with a profound and important message! The last few lines both sadden and anger me, for they are all too true in most cases:

There is an upbeat tempo in the lines.

The free verse flows smoothly with a great "pioneer-ish" feel to the words.

This is a fantastic write. It's heartwarming to see the Buffalo soldiers get justice, albeit all are dead now, but they do deserve their place in history. Imagine how rich America's history would be if every ethnic group had a true depiction of their contribution to this giant melting pot. Great job.
