There are so many reasons to shed tears and some of them are very healing they don't all have to be miserable tears either well done on this write regards Jill

What an image-rich piece UTG! "sun-blazed", gorgeous visual!
string them with sun-blazed fiery opals
and
ask only that
when you secure this necklace
of tears and opals
at my throat
please remember
to leave a trail of winged kisses
to warm my winter-chilled skin

Sorry I don't have a six for you, because this is lovely!

"They do not scald my cheeks
nor leave me bereft
These are good tears
tears to save and to savor"

Sometimes, life gives us joy and happyness that moves us to tears. If we could save those moments, make them last to savor over and over, this is the wish that the author exprssed in this beautiful poem.

great piece! I am so glad it was not weepy. Love the way you take sacred tears and make them mundane - I would collect them/ in my toothbrush glass. and then you contrast that w/ " string them with sun-blazed fiery pearls. You exhibit excellent poetic sensibilities in this piece. Imagine if you chose " Chalice" instead of " toothbrush glass", as lesser poets would do. good job. got to go cry now

Happy tears, the emotional oxymoron, but oh, so sweet. Nicely done and a beautiful complimentary picture as well. However, I think I would find a better receptacle than a "tooth brush glass." That's a discordant note that clashes with the synchronized beauty of the other terms.

This is in interesting piece. The message is clear and understandable. This piece flowed well although there was no rhyming. My attention is captured in the beginning and held to the end. Good work.

Jill,

The poem is written with such a
softness that conveys affection
and love. We shed tears for many
reasons, not all of which are bad.
An occasional complement will
bring tears of joy as will tender
moments in a movie. They are tears
of happiness and joy. Your
selection of color scheme and
graphics add to the allure of the
poem. It is a good read.

This is a very heartfelt poem about tears.
Tears are not a sign of weaknesses - only the true self can cry.
If one is hardened and cannot cry, it will be the saddest thing when tears cannot greet us with happy tears from laughing or feeling hilariously funny at times.
With all these tears, there is self awakening with a self realization of the impossibilities and awkwardness of life we are bombarded with.
We find release in happy and sad tears.
So, cry our heart out and our bulging red eyes will tell us that when sad tears flow, we got to see how bad we have felt and start moving forward again.
Cheers, Ritchie.

We cry tears for many reasons. These are welcoming tears, tears to remember and cherish. A beautiful poem that I can relate to easily. The entire write flows with a gentle softness. Very nicely done. Peace, Mike.

string them with sun-blazed fiery opals was a brilliant descriptive line. The subject matter was strong and the picture works well with the words.
