I liked the poem, but I struggled through it because of the color scheme. I would consider changing the colors so they are not so abrasive to the eyes. Elizabeth Daniels.

ask only that
when you secure this necklace
of tears and opals
at my throat
please remember
to leave a trail of winged kisses
to warm my winter-chilled skin

I suppose you'd call the tears that spring forth in the throes of joy evidence of extreme happiness. The rhythmic motion of this masterfully written piece ignites the senses with its images. It's a very pleasant read.

This is really compelling. Tears usually come
when we are sad or hurting. They are a healing
balm and in that way a God send...The pic is
an interesting choice. I especially enjoyed
the last two lines. Lovely spoken though not
sure of the meaning...Sorry!

I have cried tears that left a lump in my throat that was hard to shake the pain and grief that they recognized and escaped my self control. good message.

We often try to hide our tears rather than showing them to others. When we do expose our feelings, getting that kiss of comfort is rewarding. Well written.

Tears can be most expressive! They can reveal deep sadness, suprise or overwhelming joy. Tears can help cleanse the soul. Your poem speaks of good tears as gems to enjoy.

A beautiful free verse poem brimming with vivid visualization of opals and tears. The created mood is sublime. It moves on a structured path as the poem deftly shapes the words with the touch of a skilled craftsman.
Nice alliteration: tears to save and to savor, string them with sun-blazed, and ask.
