Yes you did, (authors notes)
Goodness can you get any more poetic? You know I really like everyday things to use to relate to our lives. Like distant stars and broken jars, tattered threads knotted in fabric and all your great metaphors. But more than that you use them wisely. And then comes emotion as the reader, why I brought my Kleenex. Though I really loved this because it's melancholy sort of a place in between. I'm just guessing like I said I'm an awful reviewer but I know what I like and I like what I know. For the most part anyway.
So great to have you back. Thank you for sharing this Curt.
XO
Vicki

    Thank you Vicki,
I am so glad you enjoyed the reading of this piece. I have no answers really as to where or why I write the way I do, it literally just comes to me on its own, if that makes any sense.
No, you are not an awful reviewer in any sense of the word, your thoughts touch me, and I am truly grateful you find pleasure in the reading.
You know me, there will be more forthcoming, as soon as I earn enough from reviewing to post, I don't buy dollars, much to Tom's chagrin I'm sure (smile)
    Take care my friend,

Hi Curt and welcome back to Fanstory! I see you haven't lost your gift to put your heart into sad but skillfully crafted poetic phrases and metaphors that touch the readers emotions. Wonderful meaningful internal rhymes and consistent rhythm make your poems flow off the tongue. I like how you used the senses of taste and color perceptions to describe your emotions. Superbly written as always. Glad to have you back posting again. I hope you are doing well.
All the best,
Rodger

    Thank you Rodger.
I am glad to be back after such a long absence. Nice to know you feel I haven't lost my touch too, I was worried about that part.
I am doing well, as well as can be, just dancing in the rain, if you know what I mean.
I am honored my friend, for your thoughts, and for your most humbling rating.
    Sincerely,
    Curt

How proudly they parade in gaudy colors crimson laced
to radiate so fiercely from the fears I haven't faced
they crash as seas of sorrow flood the salty taste of pain
into my mouth as I turn south where nothing left remains
but scattered dusty memories and used up yesterdays
with scars that last from days gone past in hues of blacks and greys.

Oh Curt I think this is the ultimate in writing poetry. You used just about every poetic device in here and yet it does not even sound so. Wonderful.

Your poem is so pure in form and rhythm and yet so disturbing in the imagery it conveys. I love the line: 'knotted in the fabric of falsehoods I believed.' Very powerful.

Thanks again for inspiring me with one of your works. You are an amazing poet. Write on! -Steve

    Thank you Steve.
To inspire other poets is probably the best rating I could think of as far as compliments go, and your rating is the icing on the comment cake you have given me.
    I am honored.

From that which I read here I surmise that you
refer to the falsehoods of which we learn from
others along the way. Some things one learns
are of opinion and later we find they have caused
us hurt ourselves. I could go on though Let me say
that this is beautifully written with very nice
rhyme and flow...

This is a wonderful poem. Such a thought provoking message, that one can relate to. Your choice of words here paint a painful picture of how cruel memories cut deep. Good work, and such descriptive word use. Blessings for continued good work. Maggie

Curt, this is really well written. The couplets work so well in the short burst of thought, by rhyming only two lines at a time, leaving off a thought and continuing with a new vein of memory.

I can't help but think that this write is closely connected to another recent write of yours.

well done, Curt
