I am so sorry.
I lost my dad in 1973 when I was 15 and never got over it.
Many will relate and it makes sense.
Great imagery and metaphr.
Wish you didn't have to write it but you know that I know better.
Well done.

Thank you Poetbear, for the review and comforting thoughts.

This very well written and expresses the deep losses we all experience at the loss of friends and family. One comment is that I do not thing "precedence" is the right word in line 4, I think better words would be "Past joys" or something similar. Well done in any event.

Thanks rod007, nice insight as usual, but no precedence is the word I want.

Crows are a great visual for this. For this is about when death occurs and shatters people. For we see crows like vultures ready to pounce and destroy what is left. The uniting of humanity with we all bear crosses is a excellent line. You have a wonderful writing style and I am enjoying reading it. Blessings, Jo

Interesting use of the birds that have always represented negative omens for many cultures. Your picture is great. Sorrow flows within as time claims all people , friends and loved ones. Life. A good read. Well done. Robin ):

Thank you Robin. Something a little dark, but I was feeling that way at the time.

This is a sad poem, one which many can relate to. I personally lost my father and also my closest friends in the past two years. It is not easy to cope with loss, but it does get easier. This is well written and a pleasure to read. xsx Sandra

this is a great poem but I am sensing some anger in there? I see your point, you've lost loved ones and wondering why? Always remember they are with you in spirit.

Grief can be horrible to deal with and you captured the emotions very well. Sorry to hear about your loss. I think crows are symbolic. There's that movie, The Crow.
Excellent work.

Thank you sunnilicious, that was a dark one. Didn't the lead actor die?
-
I think so... Bruce Lee's son. Maybe.
Have a good night.

I like the way this poem relates to anyone who has lost something special. It represents a visual in my head about the cycle of life--how things are dynamic. Sometimes sad, sometimes hard but experiences we must all go through in this human life.

Thank you mission girl. Was there a reason for the 4 rating?
