It is best to test the waters of love before attempting to build your flame. It is no good to have the douse by realism not noted.

Great poem to begin the new year, Jan. Just wondering if it should be convincing instead of convicting.

May the voice of truth blaze bright and strong this year.

Happy 2013.

Blessings,
Ellen

I like your poem about venturing out, spiritually speaking, to help bring light to darkness and bring order to chaos. So far so good. I only dissent a little, having noted over a lifetime's reflecting on these things, that there's some darkness and chaos in eacoh of us, some more than others. For me, then (and this admittedly strays from your poem), the question is how to do so knowing that we ourselves are part of the problem? Yes, we say confessionally, we are sinful: but do we mean it? If so, how would that impact us and our message?
Again, a tad oblique to your nice hymn of praise of light and its healing properties. Your thoughts provoked mine!

I really enjoyed reading your poem This is a topic that has been on my mind lately, wishing I had the courage to speak out more bravely about what I believe in. You have captured that desire very well in your poem, and your lines flow effortlessly, encouraging us to step outside the safe zone. Thanks so much for this encouraging piece!

What an interesting piece. It seems to end one era as a new one erupts. Great use of imagery. Great job, good luck and have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

until
cojoined sparks
become the blaze
forever changing our world
for the better

Jan the quietness in the world is only that way until more of a voice is needed. Then, you can find voice to really make a difference.

That is so true. Very well stated. The quote up top is good too. More people should speak, and, actually, some should remain silent. This poem makes me wonder, as it says, what could've been accomplished if certain people had spoken up.

I agree with your message in your poem. We all seem to have our own comfort zones that we hesitate in leaving. Yet we need to if we want to get the message out that God loves us all. The price has been paid for our sins. We do need to speak out about our faith and pray for others to want what we have. Blessings to you this year!

My gosh, such a wonderfully expressed voice in such an involved group of paragraphs, that I became totally stunned. I cannot pick one part of any which is more powerful than the other, when trying to understand the true meanings.Good work, An amazing picture as well.Lesley.J.
