Hello His Grayness
Made me ponder on the irony in your thought so are you saying-
"the politians should make their words short and sweet they never know when they will have to eat them?"

Gert: Thank you soooo much for your six stars and your deep consideration of my message here!! The Crows are the freeloaders the politicians have promised ALL in exchange for their votes. The crows will devistate the productive fields of those who work to create sustinance for all. When the crows finally scavange the producers there will be nothing to eat except themselves so the vision is a bit of a takeoff on 'HUNGER GAMES". Thanks again and have a FANTASTIC NEW YEAR!!! Vance

Awesome poem! Very descriptive with great imagery as:
"Precise generalizations scream through the crowded
Empty canyons of truth in the dark hell of deception below
They sit bethroned upon their barstools of responsibility
And political integrity ... firmly tethered" You also brought up what I was talking about today. Some blame the politicians, some big business while you hit it on the nail: "Idiot voters who gave them grace and power" Well said. Superb! Les

This is a lovely piece of irony! But as with all your pieces, absolutely true. If one of these 'crows' makes a million dollars, wouldn't you think that's enough? But no, more and yet more must be piled on this. This is what you're saying, only putting it far better than I am.
Well done, Vance.

HEY MIKE!! THANKS FOR THE GREAT REVIEW AND I'M VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE SIX!! I'M GLAD YOU CAUGHT MY DRIFT WITH THIS POEM AS I WISH SOME MIGHT VISUALIZE THAT THE CORNFIELDS (ALL SMALL BUSINESSES) CANNOT SURVIVE WHILE THEIR FARMERS ARE BEING TAXED TO DEATH. THE CROWS (SCAVENGERS OF FARMS AND SOCIETIES) ARE ALL IN FOR FREE SO THE POLITICAL PIGS CAN BUY THEIR VOTES BUT WHEN THE CORN IS GONE, THE ONLY THING LEFT TO EAT WILL BE THE CROWS THEMSELVES AND WE ARE JUST ABOUT THERE...I THINK EATING CROWS HAS ANOTHER NAME ......... PERHAPS......."ANARCHY"! HOPE NOT...PRAY FOR A GOOD NEW YEAR WITH BIG POSITIVE CHANGES. BLESSINGS, VANCE

Yes, old man, optimism's the name of the game, otherwise you let them drag you down, and that will never do!
Have a great New Year, Every good wish, Mike.

Annoyed? Political comments aside, I enjoyed the metaphors of this piece..."brilliantly invisible cursor" bounces as well well as well as "icy cold flame of truth" these are wonderful expressions. Over all the sense I get is...a scream of anger and frustration.

This one is different...an entire exercise of mutually exclusive terms to show how everything they say is a lie INCLUDING THE ULTRASUBTLE PUNCHLINE LIE of how WE should "eat crow"(WE should be remorseful for OUR words and actions?!?!)but I'm wondering why you're insulting the poor crows. They're resourceful(willing to eat anything including crow?),intelligent to the point of being able to speak words we can understand and create/use tools for benefit-when's the last time you heard of a damn politician doing any of those things?

Hi Val: Thanks for the great review and you're right that I was dimissive of the Crows but in my mind at the time, they were the select group of fools that believed free corn is a good thing and they would have no consequences while the farmers would suffer for their labors at the hands of the political tricksters I hope you have a great New Year and look forward to meeting you one day soon. Cheers, Vance

This is a clever and insightful look at our current goverment state. I completletly agree it is all an utter mess. Thanks for sharing this timely piece as we all dive off that fiscal cliff here in a day or two.
Happy new years!

This was an exellent writing sample. It was easy to follow, drew a main conclusion with simplest of ease and I felt moved. It moved me.
