A nice tribute to the folly of mortal man, struggling, as it were, with his nature wild. To eat the flesh of carrion, the buzzard dives. To grasp a fleeing hare, the raptor aims. To catch the running wildebeest, the crouching lion waits. To kill an innocent human being, the soldier fires. To send a message in the devil code, the terrorist strikes. 'Tis the price we pay for our humanity. Why?

"I Weep" is a profound message that goes deep into our hearts and really touches a nerve. I wept meets us at in all aspects of our lives. And then you take us to the next time, the next victim. Thank you for saying what needed to be said.

A very thoughtful and sensitive poem in response to the terrible massacre in Connecticut. You are more pessimistic than I, about what might lie ahead. The sense of outrage is deeper than I've seen before, and I have the feeling that those in positions to change things will be making an effort, and perhaps, this time, they'll be successful.

You captured the raw emotion going through our heads beyond the loss of these innocent children. You touched on shame because we have been ignoring the past massacres. That touched a nerve for sure. This poem says what many don't want to acknowledge and that is so necessary now.

This is a beautiful, powerful piece. It clearly states what needs stating and challenges us to pick a side. Well I choose life and safety. If someone would start MAG (Mothers Against Guns) I would be a supporter (& maybe a member). Great work. Good luck.

You'll have seen the (frankly crappy) stuff put on here by many Americans, fumbling in their ham-fisted way to express something that you have nailed so neatly.
This poem of yours is full of brilliant lines - wonderful things that I wish i could have written. But it's more than that. You've caught what everyone is trying to say.
It's about the raw tragedy of it all, and about self-loathing. And dead children, younger than my clothing.
I'll stop here, before this lifts off into some kind of dire doggerel. But your poem should be on websites, TV screens, in newspapers ... It's magnificent.
