This certainly fits the category of uplifting. The beginning experiences the low that is brought to great heights by the ending. The irregular lines are sort of like life itself- an irregular experience. I like the occasional rhymes and alliteration. I think they add to the emotion of the piece. Good work! Good luck in the contest!

Wow! This poem was truly exhilarating just like the "pure note" heard on your beach. Congratulations on the win. It was well-deserved.

I can see why this won the Uplifting Poetry contest. I particularly like the thought that "happiness is not a myth, it's music in the mists and I can find it." Thank you for sharing this lovely idea. Best regards, Jeanie Mercer

I haven't been on fanstory much in the last year; decided to take a minute to see what's out here --- I'm so glad I did! What a beautifully 'mentally' illustrated verse. I could see every item mentioned, not just visually, but physically. I felt the impact of the sight from deepest wounded soul to the soaring heights of hope. Stunning! ann

What beautiful and poignient pictures you have painted here on your lonely beach. I was right there on the sand, in the same sand-bleached, bone-lonely place. Drawn down into the misery by your words. Then you sang the notes for me. What an inspired vision that brought. I love the juxtaposition of the solo notes-implying the singer is also alone--with the beach walkers state of mind. One in joy, one in sadness, but the joy overwhelms. Bravo dear, a well deserved contest winner--Wendy

This starts as a poem of loneliness and desolation. But it ends as a poem of found faith and the true meaning of sprituality and love. She finds beauty and not ugliness around her now. You have some good images and sound metaphors. I like the crack of the chandelier for loss of hope and the sound of a finger rimming crystal for hope. It is strange that hope and it's opposite are both found in sounds made from crystal of different kinds.

Keep writing

And what would that note be? Perhaps a C.
When your down all you have to do.
Wait.
Some fool like me will show up who is more pitiful or has a laugh for you will come along.
I remember the poor me'. that led to pour me another.
Life's good,

aaah, there you are my dear! Absolutely, a high and pure top "C". I'd sit on my singing teacher's back "porch" - i.e. the rocks overlooking the ocean, and listen to her opera students (who had far better voices than mine) - and I've always remembered those notes floating out over the ocean in the morning air ... :) Sharyn

We feel for those who are hungry

The cold feeling they have no-where to go.

Uplifting ways to help us on earth by God and nature

Can be very special to receive.

Sad ways drift away.

The correlation of the two is quite poignant in your piece. I enjoyed the internal rhymes and alliteration sprinkled throughout. Excellent work, and certainly, "uplifting". :) Good luck in this contest.
