This is a glorious poem. For some children Christmas is all about Santa and presents. Others know it has a deeper meaning. My daughter loves the whole process of Santa, tree decorating and gift giving, but I've also tried to teach her the true meaning of Christmas each year, and I know this poem will delight her. Well done :-)

That is such a good idea, Angela. Another friend of mine said that what they do is write everyones name on a slip of paper and put them in a jug, then each person takes one out and that is the person they buy the present for. I'm afraid in so many households the true meaning of Christmas is lost and that is so sad, it is all about, what am I going to get. Thank you so much for your lovely review and sharing your ideas about Christmas. I am so pleased you liked my story/poem. xsx Sandra

I think bringing Baby Jesus into our homes at Christmas only makes it mors special, as it should be. I am delighted you liked my poem, and I am sorry for the mix-up. This lap top might be going on a trip soon.!! xsx Sandra

There's no need to apologize. I know computers don't always make our lives easier. Sometimes I think they have a mind of their own. You're welcome for the six stars. You deserved it

This poem has a fantastic message which would be useful in schools at the approach to Christmas. It is light in tone and contains regular rhythm with strong rhymes. Perfect poetry for children in that its message is easily understood while the rhythm makes it easy to remember and read.

Simply excellent.

kind regards
aaron

My daughter, and I, love fairies. She creates fairy gardens and leaves out letters, sometimes even gets replies(?) We both absolutely love this poem. She wants to take it and share at school.

The aabb rhyme is solid and the flow is rhythmic and meticulous. The story is one to behold and beautifully presented. Loved the illustration, loved the color palette, loved everything about Sad Santa including that he is now happy of course.

Extremely well done, a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read. Peace and health to you and yours, and pre-Merry Christmas :-)) Garth

That is so nice!! I have a fairy garden as well, I am still in my childhood, even though I'm a Grandma!! I am over the moon that your little girl liked it so much, and that she is taking it to school. I have just had my first book published, children's stories, and I was invited to read in several schools, and what a joy that was. I just adore the smiles my stories give these little faces, so your review has put a huge smile on my face today. Thank you so much for this amazing review! xsx Sandra

I often feel that Christmas has come to be just about presents, and I love how you took as back to the real meaning throught the eyes of the children. Well done

Personally I don't like religious/spiritual poetry. I was really getting into this poem until the talk about Jesus, Mary and Joseph came up. But that's my personal taste, so I'm not going to ding you for that.

Besides the religious aspects, this was a cute poem. Great atmosphere of childhood in the voice and word choice, especially the rhyme flow. I'm not even Christian and it made me feel a little nostalgic.

Thank you for your really kind review, Lucid Dreem. If this poem has made someone who is anti religion, feel nostalgic, then I have hopes that some children will take my poem to heart, LOL, I am pleased you did enjoy it, anyway! Thank you! xsx Sandra.

I'm not anti-religion. Religious poetry just isn't my taste. But you're welcome.
reply by the author on 22-Nov-2012
Right, now I understand, I have to say, I am a bit like that. I do have my own thoughts on what religion should be like, and it isn't the churches ideas. I'm afraid they have not been that brilliant in sending the right messages out and I'm afraid there are too many people being murdered in the name of religion. I am sorry if I offended you by my remark, that wasn't my intention.

Children and adults both tend to forget the symbolism of gift giving at this time of year. Thank you for giving this adorable fairy to remind us.
