Heroic is a great word for both you efforts here and the meaning behind them. I agree with so much of what you say, DS. And I couldn't write one of these if my life depened on it. Still, I know a good poem when I read one and this is really superb. My favorite:
'So harshly devastating is the blow
To watch your six star rating slowly die
Degraded by some simpleton or foe
Without a valid reason as to why'
Been there. Doesn't feel too great.

This is a very cleaver and interesting piece. To me it is actually 7 pieces -- each piece very capable of standing on its own. Despite this, you have a story being told that flows nicely. Good job and good luck.

Oh DragonSkulls, what time and work you must have put into these poems. I entered one of these cwown contests in the past and it nearly killed me. I haven't checked that you didn't repeat rhymes (which rule was very wisely relaxed in this particular contest), but if you achieved it, I applaud you. That was what I found most restricting.
Now, I have to be entirely honest, and I think it's *such* a shame you chose this subject. That's not to say I disagree with what you say - in fact I share just about all your thoughts - but to expend so much skill on such a limited topic, which will mean nothing beyond the pages of FS, seems misplaced effort. But perhaps you have time to spare, or write so quickly that you can afford to do this.
A great job nonetheless, and I hope this does well for you. I don't think I can face it again, so congratulations on reaching the finishing line.

Here lately I've been sadly disappointed in what's been winning on here so I went this way with it. Nothing I ever write manages to get past the FS pages. I really appreciate the generous stars. I want to learn and it is a good place to do that but there are so many people who review just for the member dollars. Drop in once and give a low rating when it isn't warranted. You need to develop a thick skin and be very careful what you say isn't taken wrong. I hate fluff reviews and I hate it when they are unfounded. Thanks for doing this. I find this write to be of the highest quality in both style and content. It takes a lot of time just to write seven sonnets the are interlinked, never mind to insure that they make sense. I also agree with the author on the content of the write. Bravo Dragon, you have penned a winner in my book. You might want to check out Lake of Dreams.

Since I agree with you on so many levels (seven right), I had to give this delightful and extremely well written poem a much deserved six star rating. Very witty and dripping with much needed sarcasim. I to dearly wish video tapes and author's notes could be banished. Sometimes the notes are longer than the poem, in fact oftentimes. If you want more validation, that I agree with a great deal of your "rant." God to my profile page and read what I wrote about a contest, that was supposed to be one thing and was won by a completely different form. Very well penned my friend.

Very well done. That was quite the effort to undertake. You really have delved into the fanstory problem. Unfortunately the day Tom made the site into the format it is the problem began. You an buy your way to the top and kiss butt your way to the top and your work may or may not be of worthy reading. I have some other beefs about this site as well but your sonnets cover the top one. Good job with that under taking and such a great flowing rant it was. I think the title better with the rant in place. Great work.

WOW! Does this poem ever hit home! I have read so much crap on this site, and yet they get so much praise! At first it did bother me that hardly anyone reads my Angel Poems, but in the 2 mo. That I have been on this site, I have decided oh well! I do read and of course use the points to a higher level, to entice people to read! I do think the system is flawed in this way! I actually do better on the fanart side, but the main reason I joined, was to share my Angel Poetry with others, but alas, no one really seems to care!

Hey Angel, hello. Thank you so much for the kind review and the gracious sixer. I've found the best way to get reviews is to enter contests. Promoting rarely gets out there unless you're clear up on the front page. When you're in contests at least a few more people read your work. Don't let it discourage you. Like you said, crap gets the praise on here. Dare to write anything other than butterflies and rainbows pretty well gets you nowhere with a lot of these folks. These contests have greatly help improve my writing skills. I just like to bitch once in a while, lol. Thank you again for the generous rating. I'm humbled. I'm glad you liked it.
