Another well-written, pacy and thought-provoking chapter. Your characters are really full-bodied, and like such a wine, they can be savoured and enjoyed. The authentic dialogue carries the reader, without pause, through a story which has clarity and purpose.
Previously. The use of 'that' is not necessary. The paragraph reads quite well without it. 'That' is a much over-used word, un-loved by editors.
Spotted a couple of spelling slips. 'corrid(o)r' and 'imperm(e)able'.
Gripping stuff, and throroughly enjoyable.

Very good read. I feel sure these characters were developed in earlier chapters but I think a new wrinkle may have been added to Jana, surprise. Her reaction to the the description of the the man from the Reservation hit her hard. Very nice touch.
