Wow! I want an out of body experience, now! Interesting poem. I love it when writers write about their past experiences in life. It's just more real- and cool!

I have a feeling I know who this is. Correct me if I am wrong, but your font and layout of the poem gives me the impression that the author is Visionary... aka Sharyn?

:)

I can remember my younger brother, when he was about 4, telling my mother he remembered "when he was a daddy". I beautiful vision of that "other place" from whence we came and where we shall return. Well done. :) nancy

Ok, truth be told, this scared me lol! The gentle delivery from an unknown source had me thinking 'soul devouring evil clown', more than the angels in heaven, or the good aliens in close encounters. But that's just me, and I'm neurotic like that. In any event, it's unique and well written. And I think I'll stay right here for now, home can wait! Lol jk

aah, you are indeed, my dear - souls are gentle light beings, only seeking or to be sought when one life on earth is over - but why not believe in reincarnation? And yes, for right now, home can ABSOLUTELY wait! I'm with you!

This is absolutely lovely and truly catches the essence of an out-of-body experience. Beautiful language throughout. I particularly like, "to infinite midnight blue, / our soul-stars streaking / to the dark side of the moon / and beyond the edgeless universe / to end of time itself." Another stunning line: "sliding down the satin rainbow." And your note repeating what your little son said about remembering what God looks like (but beginning to forget) sends delicious chills up my spine. I am rather stingy with six-star ratings, but I feel this truly merits one. Good luck to you, Jeanie Mercer

A tangle of images not fully drawn or colored. The lack of form and erratic punctuation lend a mystic to this that penetrates to the inner core of the soul. I never decided if it was an invitation to death or to life. Could be both but not neither. A nice experiment in mystery.

You have depicted a wonderful out of body experience with your delightful imagery. I particularly like the reference to returning. Nothing scary about this just a beautiful trip. Kind of makes me think of reincarnation.

This contest has an interesting title: non seasonal free verse. Is there now something called seasonal free verse? Like an Ode to a Pineapple.

I never had an out of body experience, unless you count the time I saw Methuselah descending from a cloud over Lake Konstanz amid criss-crossing sunbeams shooting through the clouds, the tinkling of Swiss cowbells below the lookout, and beautiful damsels sitting to my left, to my right (and on my lap) under an apple tree at Napoleon's summer cottage.

You think I'm kidding? You're right. Nothing like that ever happened, as far as I can recall.

However, I have been visited by the sandman, so I get the idea of satin rainbows, the warm safety of bed, and a whole lifetime ahead, to play and learn.

Spooky! Is it time to go home?

This was a fun poem to read, and got me thinking about the time that . . .

Cheers,
DW

naaah, I think people (myself included) were getting rather tired of Halloween poetry (AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!) Glad that one's over - it spawns some truly awful stuff. Never was much of a blood, guts & gore fan - but must say your Methuselah thing sounds like you may have the makings of something quite mind boggling there!

The writing is very nice; good flow of the words. The presentation is excellent; great color combination.
As for the message - a nice fantasy.
