What an inspirational poem of confession and gratitude - you have composed a lovely poem here, my friend. I loved "my tongue's been sharp, my tone's been worse, a look from me could fetch a hearse". I think we have all been guilty of that at some point in our lives. Well done. A strong entry for this contest.

Hi Jan,
Another prayer of thanksgiving and praise, well-written and nicely presented. Isn't it wonderful that, no matter how bad things may seem, we can always find something to be thankful for.
Hugs,
Lois

That is truly what it is all about- giving thanks and praise to the Lord continually. The use of repeating lines was very effective- great work with this that gave an essence of pleading. Holly

I felt like this poem was written for me as I have gone through a similar situation. I loved the "thank you, Lord, for saving me", put more of an impact on the poem itself.

"A look from me could fetch a hearse." I loved that line. What a unique and creative way to say the obvious. This was a brilliant technique for dodging a cliche. The rest of the poem was awesome as well, but that line made me go back to it.
Very nice work, Jan.

Hi Jan, My sister told me the other day things were really going bad for her. Someone told her to thank God for things before she had them. And she said things started changing for her. And shes a lot better. This poem reminded me of that. very nicely written. Love your words. And the perfect picture. Linda
