I choose life! I really liked how your poem just kept pushing goodness from out of the dark. Bringing the reader into the light really made this poem excellent. ~Katherine

I really love your poem and your original art work! This is such a wonderful and important message as depression is a major issue that gets little attention. Thank you for sharing this very well written piece! Brian :)

The artwork is awesome and you are really talented. The poem has a darkish connotation to it in the beginning then it accelerates into hope.
Well done indeed with this excellent work.

Your thought-provoking poem is exuberant and strong in its efforts to rally those who are down and hopeless. Yes, they need hope.

good proximate rhyme in drain/shame/pain
good alliteration in depression the drain
I like the rhyming progressions with the shorter bridge lines
Believe/achieve - you offer a strong, inspirational message in good poetic form :-) Brooke

Somehow this poem strikes me as a poetic version of Dr. Wayne Dyer's approach to taking charge of your own life, as expressed in his book, "Your Erroneous Zones," and many others. It's well put, laying out the symptoms of depression first, and then suggesting remedies. Well done.

Thank you for your good review. I have never read his books. I just thought about my own problems with depression and have prayerfully endeavoured to reslove them. CG

The visuals and poetics both depict swords...one pierces with steel, the other with words. One makes you bleed from your body, the other...from your soul. Striking words, well-written.
