A great commentary that all
that glitters is not gold,
and outward appearances of
the happiness of people is
nothing but a facade of
true emotions and feelings.
You have artistically and
poetically painted this
picture of loneliness
within.
Well done

A good write and do you think men just don't think of romance. I have been married 50 years and I have to remind him about a birthday card.I take the money from the house keeping and buy them myself and put my husbands name on them.I enjoyed reading your poem needs no edit.

There's a lot of truth in this. My husband and I have kicked eachothers arses over this and are much better for it. This is a great reminder to us all

This is very funny, I can relate to it a bit, but luckily it isn't that bad for my husband and I. Maybe at the 30 year mark it will. LOL

This poem clearly demonstrate a good scenerio of loneliness in the life of aa married couple. Nothing could be more lonely than when partner are not the best friends of each other, it shows a state of total communication breakdoen, loneliness.

This poem makes it sound like happiness is coming in at second place here. This was a well written piece of poetic art. It flows within its message really well... John

Wow! This is incredibly powerful my friend! Loneliness does not have to mean alone, does it? If you don't win the prompt with this, girl, I want to see what does!

This speaks the truth of marriages and love. You can be lonely even when attached to someone that you love. Longing for the romance of yesterday is cast aside for the rat race and keeping up with the Jones. This is a very honest look at the loneliness and entrapment that a relationship can bring.

Thx Starlit - unfortunately it is based on observation ... we so easily become "unconscious" and life drifts by, hmm?
