AH YES! It's good to be the king :) Great little[for you] chapter Mike, loved the visuals, the pent up anger screaming to be unleashed but unable to break free of the primeval need to Shag first and make your mind up afterwards, again and again. It's good to be the King!

Thanks so much, Hitch! Skull is my light relief, and until he becomes central to the plot, I'll be using scenes like this as interludes, keeping us up to date on his antics. I really appreciate your support and encouragement, mate - it means a lot.

Liked the discreet love scene, not against more detailed but this is good, leaving some to the imagination is fine. I think the girl was an excellent character it seems a match for skull in obstinate. looking forward to next and what's happening with that boy.

Thanks, James :-). I treat Skull as the semi-light relief, and his chapters will appear as interludes during the early part of the book until he gets properly involved later on. Thanks so much for your continued feedback and support.

lol, yeah - I can't see a contemporary character getting away with it :-). I see Skull as a tongue-in-cheek bad guy character, hopefully prociding some light relief to the main plot, which is relatively serious. So glad you liked it!

Well, I must say that this was a well-crafted piece. Skull is a rather intense characters. The others were "okay" as well, but I really got into Skull. I particularly liked how your dialogue flowed, the interaction keeping things moving, but with purpose. I'd say you mapped this out because I didn't detect any "floundering" in your writing.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Very believable characters in a fully realised world. The somewhat breathless pace is very appropriate to the setting.If I was editing this I would be inclined to change sentence construction in a couple of places, but as it stands this in no way detracts from enjoyment of the story.

Thanks, Scribbler :-). I'm rewriting this from a very old draft (before I knew what I was doing!), and some of the sentences are slipping through. I'll be doing a thorough proofread to root out such things once I've finished. So glad you liked it!

Thank you :-). Skull is a fun character, and key to the plot later on, so I like to keep the reader up to date with his actions while I'm writing about the other characters using these interlude chapters.
