Your author notes did bring a smile my way. Happy reading ...NOT. There have been some bad folks who could be included. Many meglomaniacs are unfortunately in positions of authority.

I quite agree...

Not very happy reading. We are often tempted by appearances and promises that are hollow only to find that a drastic mistake was made much too late.

Well, I suppose there the necessity for repentance could come into the equation.

The second coming of Christ. God. The ultimate CEO. Universal and personal deliverance. Predetermined fate.
Very dramatic delivery, Bicpen, why the mystery? What about redemtion?

Well, I really dont believe Hitler had any redemption to be quite honest, maybe, I'm reading something into it your not...would be interested to here how you read these interpretations...much obliged...
your old pal bic...
-
Well, I had no idea this was a dedication to Hitler and his list of atrocities. You should include some reference to that fact within the poem. For Hitler, retribution, I would imagine--not redemption. We all play a part, I believe, in providence.
-
Well cv theres a very good reason for not enquiring about his deeds except this one...try donaldww's review and work from there...and also christianspirit...!
get back to me if you want a talk about it,
much obliged,
Bic.
-
Well, I deduct, from our conversation, that your poem is the embellishment of Hitlers twisted ideology--inasmuch as he views himself as providence, and by a fatalistic consequence of his actions; you are in some sense a victim.
-
That is true my friend, much obliged...
-
Good luck in your quest. I'm no stranger to misfortune.
-
Know the feeling cv...take care...and Gods Blessings...!

Hi, Bic.
This is certainly very well written, dramatic and thought-provoking free verse.
Who indeed is 'providence'? It could be a general liar on his metaphoric 'white horse', it could be Satan himself, or the really cynical may think it's an un-caring God.
Excellent!
Best wishes, Ray

Excellent Ray, much though provokingness...much appreciaated,
your old pal,
Bic.
-
My pleasure, Bic.
Hey, you don't look that 'old' in your profile pic.
I'm wondering if 'old pal' is just a nice term of endearment, or whether we knew each other in a past term at 'FS'.
My old pseudonym began with 'D', though that's as much as I'll divulge in public. :-) x
-
term of endearment, my friend...loved the bird spotting...the eagle was great.
-
'endearment' back to you, Bic. Thanks for reading and complimenting my old 'Eagle' poem.
-
no worries...
Comment from Ure Connection
This is kind of dark.
Assuming that you mean providence to be a form of wisdom from God or another being. It leaves me questioning where wisdom comes from, Big G or little g?

Ok I thought your symbolism was great, as for killing your children etc. well isn't that what God big G and gods little g do. First enticing children from our aprons with words then severing the connection with love. This is how they grow up and become individuals. I love the deeper parts that can be gleaned from this.
-
Excellent reply...I am glad you can understand it and yes both big G and little g have a part in it...!
The love that seperates is the ideology they follow which unless suitable will "kill" them, that is the mainthrust of the idea but we are to aware, also, of the quite literal reference...!

A little background in your notes would help to the reader to make sense of this poem. You may know a lot about Providence but I don't

We are all born to die. It is the living in the middle that makes the difference. The white horse is a most beautiful creature. Lovely picture

The art work is great and the words interesting.
I don't want to walk anywhere near this horse
Who seems to be very nasty.
