Though this poem is not as clear in meaning as I'd have liked, it is well written in a very chiiling way. The imagery is crystal clear throughout.

Many thanks Opal...just out of interest, what did you have in mind for "clear in meaning."

    much obliged,
    Bic.

I'm still not sure exactly what pleasure and pain was being referred to, and why pleasure wasn't desirable after all.

The best description I can give you is a little exercise; go to reviews, page 4 and look up Donaldww...

...afterwards I would be very interested to hear if it makes a clearer impression for you,

    much obliged,

A very nice story that makes the reader chuckle, then realize the seriousness of the message. The dialogue contributes to the overall message and story nicely . . . without getting in the way. The last line is particularly endearing with its not so subtle admonition to the reader. I like it!

'Pleasure or Pain?' is an exceptionally well-written and thought-provoking piece. This talented poet's work is a lesson in what to ask and not ask for. It was a pleasure to read and review a work of this standard.

Once again you have taken a subject normal people would shy upon and added little characters to a brilliant poem demonstrating the easy temptations that is within everything. Unknown pleasures to which plague peoples soul, entering a store, the sin's to come whole. Great story, love them, really - really love them. They are a pleasure to read, don't stop, for it will be a sin!

Most interesting poem, Bicpen. a lesson in not everything is as it appears to be. Reads well and the colours and pictures is very appropriate.

I do sincerely wish I could have awarded another star, but unfortunately, I had none left to give this week. I do see why this poem was recognized as it was. As dark and eerie as it may seem, it does make one think.

Thanks for sharing.

This is a truly enthrawling poem. It paints a vivid picture of how we sometimes view the consequences of our actions and demand the bill.

Believe me the bill for sin is not one anyone should desire...as death is also an existence without the love of God in any shape or form, common grace or otherwise.

Hi Bicpen,

This poem is one that begs to be pondered. There are consequences in everything we do and even more so if we cross the line of sin. You have chosen expressive words, the colors are very apt for the theme and the flow is smooth. Well done.....chey

Poets's interpretation of life's dark reality is awesome .......very thought ful.....I always feel poem is all about rhyme and reality, turned and twisted, to give a feel of poetic atmosphere around the one who reads it....

Your thought-provoking, cautionary poem effectively reminds us that there are consequences to our actions--especially when we participate in actions that bring temporary, illicit pleasure.
