Rox,

A fun post that I think most people here with kids will be able to relate to. I know I did. Since my gdaughter is currently in the 'find me, RoRo!' stage, I totally get it. hahahaha

One small note:
1.) button on every appliance and electronic (device) I owned.

Thanks!

Yes kids are fun aren't they? And the best part of babysitting, you can give them back. He is still a sweetheart at 8. He now has 3 sibling, they all have a ton of energy. I wish I had some of it. They have moved far from me now, which makes me very sad. We were so close and they just up and decided to move one day. None of us really know why, Her husband has family where they moved so maybe he felt it was his turn to be near family. The grandparents went into shock and there where many weepy days for Mimi. ={ But she already has 20 trips planned so she will survive. I hope the kids do. They saw her almost every day and are so close to her. I can't imagine them without her. But kids adjust. Thanks so much. Rox

Perfect description of a two and a half year old. I know. I raised five of them, and actually let them all live LOL. We won't, however, mention my mental state.

Well he now has 3 sibling and we often have them all at once. So my mental state is not always the best either. =} Thanks so much for the read and review. I really appreciate it.

Jimmy would a be a real terror if he wasn't so cute and had your permission to wreck the house. But who knew he had the munchies and a taste for toilet water. And oh yeah, he knows how to hide if he needed.

Kids are so funny. He now has 3 sibling and they are all so different and funny. They just moved far away and that is soooo sad! Won't see him much now. He was a sweetie as a baby and still is as a 8yr old. Thanks so much for the read and review. Rox

Wow Roxanna, this is a great story and very funny. It is also very well written. Yeah, boys will always be boys. They can't help themselves for having to look into everything. I'm glad you found him in the end, and I can perfectly understand you would have been exhausted by the time his mum picked him up again. I really liked it. All the best. Ulla:)))

Thank you so much Ulla. He was really a little sweetie. And still is at 8. He and his family just moved 9hrs away. We were very sad to see them go. =[ Will miss them. He has 3 sibling and I was very close to them all.

Ahh, that's a great shame. So I take they've moved out of the USA? I bet you'll miss them. My daughter, son in law and grandchildren live 3 hours away in Denmark, but that's manageable. :)))

It's a good thing kids are so darn cute or not only aunts but parents might not make it to the end of their rope of patience. Sounds like you love him dearly and indulged him when you were babysitting. One good thing about being an aunt is you can hand the kids back to their parents.

I remember being babysat. My earliest memory is of my sister watching me while our parents went out. She told me bad men had broken into the house and had me hide behind the couch until our parents returned. I was damaged.

Well I never did that, I just told them monsters would eat them if they didn't behave. Just kidding. I do hope you have recovered. Thank you for the read. Rox

Within the last two months, my grandson has started asking me to play hide and seek. You tell it like it is, believe me. And, you tell it so humorously. I do all of those things, fake hiding and fake finding included. You just have to have a second to yourself, even if it is just to pick up something that they could kill themselves on.
You have a wonderful wit, Roxanna. I am so glad that you reposted this. Bet you won the contest the last time.

No, I didn't win, but I should have! =} He was a cutie, a real sweetheart, and he still is at 8. Have fun with your grandson. They grow up way too fast. Thanks so much for the great review. Rox

Sometimes I understand the win. Sometimes not. I agree. This should have won.

I take it he survived the toilet bowl tea? My God he must have had a great immune system. Yuck! Kids are a hoot. One of my grandchildren loved keys and he would take a keychain and try every lock in the house. Also he was too little for the small bike, but he would walk it around the circle driveway until he was worn out. Good child really. LOL well done, Roxanne. Nancy

Yes kids are so funny. This was made up, but some of it was taken from real life like getting into cupboards and my pantry. When his older sister was with him she would open the fridge and they would stand on that little step inside and look at everything. It was so funny. They would eat non stop. They still eat non-stop but now it 's not as cute. =} Thanks so much Nancy. Rox

Yes! Little children have such a talent for making you laugh, cry scream, worry and wonder.
So innocent for the most part, so free of fear.
I feel you captured the gauntlet of emotions, highs and lows spectacularly.
I like how your piece came across as relatable to many the reader.
The internal dialect of the thought process is also well captured.
I enjoyed this greatly...Well done

Thank you so much Bridget. I did change his name and this isn't a true story, well a few things are, but he was really very good and such a sweetie. He still is at 8. Rox

Good story. He is really good at hide and seek. You are bad at it. LOL! He found you without much effort. Of course, he could fit in the trunk, wheras you couldn't. I wish I had been there to see him. Sounds like a great kid. :)
