Congratulations on a well deserved win! I enjoyed the graceful flow that your poem sustained from beginning to end. It lent an air of gentility which all the more emphasized your theme of innocence.

This is a really beautiful ode to childhood. The rhyming and imagery was perfect. If I had a six left, I would surely bless this poem with it.
Thank you for sharing.

Congratulations in winning this contest. This poem reminded me of walking with my granddaughter, oh, I see so many things that escaped me before. But, she is growing up as well....

Thank you so much amada. I'm delighted to bring you good memories. It is good to see through a child's eyes now and then, isn't it?

Ah, a lament for our lost-child view of the world, before we were forced to grow up. Some people resisted, and kept their dreams, although inside, hidden from the world. We dreaded being called "Childish," and yet, how were we to keep those dreams, that new discovery every day, maintain our fascination with an ever-changing world?
Very good work, I like this one!

I'm glad to know you liked this one, Irish. I agree, some people do manage to hang on to the child-eyes with which they view the world. It helps if you are a writer, to be able to do that, doesn't it?

This has charming details of the delight a child finds in the world around her. It is sad that life often takes a child's innocence away. The poem is well written, with good rhymes and rhythm.

'Ode To Innocence' is a winning ode worth a million stars. It is a precious poem, one every grandparent who is lucky to read it will absolute love it. Your unique powers of observation make me know how very much I've forgotten of the wonders all around us.

I adore what you have written here in this
lovely poem. It is also a reminder and a
message to all of us to return to the youth
we once knew.
How does life get distorted so quickly. I
love the rhythm, the rhyme, the flow and
imagery in this poem.
It is totally delightful.
My best to you. Good luck.
