A fascinating chapter.

I ran into a lot of Gypsies when I was doing police ride-alongs in Rome. The groups we were tracking had acquired quite the criminal record. The women and children were aggressive pick-pockets at the train station and the men ran break-in crews.
Not quite the romantic scene I had envisioned.

Another great chapter. Hugs,d

Thee are Gypsies, Pykies (not sure of the spelling) and there are Travelers. All three are based on Gypsy culture but differ significantly. It seems you ran into either Travelers or Pykies...only a guess of course.

Whomever they were ... they were quite unpleasant. The women were sooooooooooo aggressive and quite scary. First time I have ever been afraid of women. LOL

NICE FLOW, EXCELLENT NARRATIVE AND GOOD EXPLANATIONS OF THE MAIN CHARACTER'S CULTURE AND PEOPLE. DIDN'T FIND ANY SPAGS IN THIS WELL-WRITTEN PIECE.

TAKE CARE,

RAY

This is very interesting and informative.
I liked it very much.
It helps us to understand your characters better.

Thanks. It was a difficult chapter to write since there is actually very little information on the subject.

June 8, 1939: 2nd paragraph... last line (re-read)
2nd last paragraph.. second-line: each, should be... each other,

Pleased about your explanation in red at the beginning. I find the story uncomfortable in its history can't wait for the trial to see justice. Giddy

I agree this aspect of the story is both uncomfortable and disturbing but I feel the ending will hopefully please the reader. Thanks so much for catching the spags.

Very interesting and is starting to fill in some gaps. This is a good story and I await each chapter. Looks as if you are putting some flesh on the bones of the story, Moves along nicely..well written.

Thanks. I've been doing a lot of editing while I've been recuperating. Since Chapter 27 is so important, I felt it was necessary to re-post it. I am pleased you liked it.

Ah, you are back (I'm happy to see)
and you've brought James along with you.

You've obviously done a great deal of
research... and it shows, which made this
a really fascinating read... which I so enjoyed.

Welcome back, my friend.

Margaret

I now know more about Romani Gypsies than I ever knew possible or ever wanted to know. Thanks for going back and rereading the new chapter.

Hi Smurphy
How nice to see you back in action!
Sadly, your author's notes have come out in some kind of hieroglyphics!
I understand that this chapter is one to impart important information - that will guide us in later installments.

I'll take a look at the notes and see what I can do to fix them. Yes, this chapter may not makes sense now but will play a big roll in future chapters.

There is a major problem with the way the computer has placed this piece. Regardless I was tickled to see a piece on this book again. I was getting concerned about your health since we had not heard from you in such a long time. I do pray things are going better for you. God bless.

I will take a look at the post and see what I can do to fix it. Yes, I am feeling better but still have a way to go before I'm back to normal.

Ah, finally, I get to meet James again and read the Romani translation with him. Is it only my computer. or do others mention it too, that your page are wider than the screen? I solved my reading problem by copying it to Word... Interesting as ever, Sasha.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but others have mentioned that the page is wider than the screen. I'll talk to Tom and see what I can do to fix it.

Hi Sasha,

I was glad to see you had posted another chapter of this book. You never disappoint me and I was engaged in this chapter from the beginning. You must have studied a lot about the Gypsy people to be able to write of them so well. This is a great chapter and I enjoyed reading it....blessings, chey
