'Rain' is a highly imaginative piece filled with colorful words. I have not seen the film, but the thoughts of Powder and the girl are clearly expressed and the wholeness of the story comes through. Very enjoyable.

I am not a big fanasty story reader, but enjoyed your short story.
I assume the characters are somewhere in outer space in a far off realm???
Good story.

hi there~ and thank you so much. This is a sort of continuation of the movie Powder starring Mary Steenburgen? And Jeff Goldblum. SO good. Hope you will see it? I'm very happy you enjoyed this! Susan

I always wondered about Powder's fate too. I like where he ended up in your story. You manage to convey so much emotion and beautiful imagery in such a short space that I feel compelled to give you six stars.

I truly loved reading this! It's amazing how words, when written well, can take us to the place of the characters. I felt "light" while reading this story. I could feel Powder's peacefulness. And I could feel the happiness the woman felt in the rain when she was hearing him speak to her. Really great!

Hey, Suse. Nice job. You have a talent for turning
phrases. I have not seen this film, but based on the trailers, I have some idea who Powder is.
I have a feeling you want to be up here among the clouds with him.
Best of luck in the voting.
Peace, Lee

Hi there! Thanks Lee...I'm happy if you liked this...and i hope you'll see the movie someday. It's neat. I do want to be somewhere else. But the fear of the unknown keeps me in this misery. It's my own fault. Thanks again Lee. I always appreciate your time for me. Susan

This is a wonderful story. I like how the story touches on the elements of unconditional love, "the human condition" (as I call it), one "god's" sorrow in sharing it with a mortal, and a mortal's longing for his return. I like how the story ends, with him returning to soothe her, in the form of rain. It brings a feeling of comfort to me. The story was very well written with meticulous wording and depth. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there Vincent...Thank you very much! I'm delighted you enjoyed this and I wonder if you've seen the movie 'Powder'...it's sort of 'old', but still a good one. I really appreciate your kind words! And welcome to the site! I'll try to read for you too. Susan,

Yes, I have seen the movie. I didn't fully know if that was what you was making a reference to. So, is your story, like a continuation of the original? Nevertheless, I enjoyed your story very much.

Yes, I've always 'wondered' what Powder was, who he was...this was just a take on those thoughts. Thank you again Vincent. I really am happy you like this.. :) Susan

Powder watched the people below; pity - I would use a comma there
I love the poetic sound of your prose, like - swirled in a circle of mist
This is hauntingly evocative, filled with emotion. I love the way it leaves me wondering, filling in the blanks, so that my imagination becomes a co-author. Well done, Susan :-) Brooke

Your story is fascinating, fanciful, and well-written. Powder is a very memorable entity not bound by the physical boundaries of humans and, therefore, awe-inspiring.
