Psalms are praises to God. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. This has very good imagery.

Jan, I look forward to reading these writings of your
psalms of praise and looking to God in times of distress
and joy. I think you are so right. Many people find
comfort and joy in the Psalms.

I know you said that "The Psalms are considered poetry" but I can hardly agree to that. It maybe a nicely written piece, but certainly not a poem.

This is poetry, written by Karen Ravn:

"Only as high as I reach can I grow,
Only as far as I seek can I go,
Only as deep as I look can I see,
Only as much as I dream can I be."

Cheers,
JB

Hi Jan,

Psalms and Proverbs are my favorite books of the Bible because they are sheer poetry as far as I'm concerned, and they hold so many comforting messages. It's a shame that your therapist put "pressure" on you with her suggestion, but I know exactly what you mean. However, it sounds like you're going to handle it exactly as you had planned, and I wish you all the best with it.

Hugs and blessings,
Lois

Recently I was sharing a (my) poem (Psalm of Distance) with (to let readers know where the poem came from)

Very nice. I love the idea. I have wanted to compile devotionals in much the same way. Writing is indeed good therapy. I am presently using it for this very reason as I overcome medical obstacles. Best wishes to you for success in this endeavor. G-d bless.:)
