Thank you for taking the time from your own work to review this. I had hoped that readers would have almost as much fun as I did writing it. I played the game of Clue (Cluedo, across the pond) for years. Some guests brought the game with them to my B & B and as I listened to them play, the lines started rattling around in my head. My only regret is that they seem to have escaped without letting me know who really did it.

Thank you, once again for reviewing my work. I had hoped the readers would have almost as much fun as I did in the writing of it. I played the game of Clue (Cluedo, across the pond) for years. Some guests brought the game with them to my B & B and as I listened to them play, the lines started rattling around in my head and the characters began screaming to be let out. Alas, It would seem that they have escaped without telling me who did it. The only thing that is apparent is that. "He was shot, stabbed, choked and bludgeoned,.. . .hmmmm.

Impressive retelling of "Clue" and in limerick form no less.
I have no idea how to do limericks, so I had to look it up. Perhaps it's because I have no experience with them, but it was a little hard for me in some places to figure out where your stressed syllables were intended to be.

This is not true limerick form, but what I was told is an elongated limerick. They have the truncated two line center in common, The AABBA form and exaggerated, sing-song rhythm. But a true limerick is shorter in the A lines, nine beats and 5 in the B, while mine has twelve and 7 Thanks for taking the time to read and review the poem. I know that it takes precious time away from your own words.

I don't usually read poetry, but this was amazing! It was simply brilliant. I don't know how you did this? I know, are things slow in Roanoke? HaHa..I used to live in Va Beach...anyway, hat's off to you..this is great!

Thanks for taking the time to read and review this. Sunday's are always slow, but I usually write late at night or before dawn so that I can actually run my B & B. Planning a trip to VA Beach soon. I will say hi.

It was the butler!!! I worked out all the clues, definitely the butler. This was a brilliantly written story in a poem contest entry, it must have taken you hours to work all that out and making a convincing case against so many possible suspects. Very well written and a really intriguing read! xsx

Some guests brought the game with them to my B & B and as I listened to them play, the lines started rattling around in my head and the characters began screaming to be let out. Alas, It would seem that they have escaped without telling me who did it. Actually, the bulk of it was written rather quickly. But I am a real stickler when it comes to rhyme and rhythm. Very OCD about it--that and finding the perfect word. What took 8 hours was the fine tuning; shoving these nasty people into their proper place while they tried to run off to another room. Professor Plum and his revolver in the dining room in particular were very fond of trying to do their own tap dance while I tried to count beats. Thanks again

In the last line, the only suggestion I would make would be this..Drat, I haven't got a clue! Do any of you? That way clue and you keep the rhyme going because you have done that throughout. The game of Clue spelled out in a poem. I loved that board game as a kid and then some restaurants up north started having a night of it where you could dine and play the game...very cool.
